The 82° Series eyepieces come with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raise to the desired height for the comfort of the observer, and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope. To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are flat black, as well as the edges of the lenses themselves to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves. All 82° Series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.

The narrowband UHC filter, like the O-III filter, isolates the two doubly ionized oxygen lines (496 and 501nm) in addition to the hydrogen-beta line (486nm) emitted by planetary and most emission nebulae. This filter permits superb views of objects like the Orion, Lagoon, Swan and other extended nebulae. It performs well in smaller aperture instruments owing to its greater light transmission than the O-III, yet still suppresses light pollution well. The UHC filter is the best all-around dark-sky nebula filter. Supplied with storage case.
Advanced multilayer "interference" filter designed to enhance deep-sky observing in moderately light-polluted skies. It blocks the most common wavelengths of light pollution - predominantly produced by mercury vapor lamps - and allows higher transmission of critical hydrogen-alpha and hydrogen-beta lines. Bright, light-polluted skies appear much darker in the field of view and contrast significantly enhanced, particularly emission nebulas like the Orion and Lagoon. With practice, you will be able to collimate your Newtonian telescope in just a few minutes - especially if simply finely collimating your telescope for optimal imaging. The eyepiece consists of a long metal tube, a reticule and a 45° base. The reticule gives you the orientation required for the optical axis.Collimation of refracting telescopesIf you use the eyepiece for checking the collimation of a refracting (lens) telescope, then you will see as many reflections as there are lenses in the telescope. If all the reflections are round and centred, then your telescope is well collimated.
