A step towards perfection The new Alphacool reservoir comes in three different models. You can either connect a Laing DDC, an Alphacool DC-LT, or a Laing D5/Alphacool VPP655 at the backplate, depending on the model you use. The craftsmanship on this reservoir is first-class. The brushed plate covering the outside provides an optical finishing touch, and the front consists of a scratch-resistant soft-touch surface painted matte black. The Eisfach is mounted in two of the front 5.25" bays, which provides a good overview of the container, and the fill level can be checked easily through the backlit window. Additionally, the Alphacool logo in the front can be illuminated by connecting the 3-pin connector to a power source. Many details make up the first impression! Two 1/4" holes on the top side are available for the first filling. To refill, you can simply unscrew and remove the fill port in the front, while two 1/4" holes at the bottom side facilitate the draining of the liquid. There are two lighting modules for 5mm LEDs on the right-hand side of the back of the container, behind the window. This provides a unique opportunity for a personalised appearance and lighting. Two more holes on the left-hand side provide additional places to fill or drain the liquid. The last two 1/4" threads are intended for the inlet and outlet. A Bubble Down module has been placed behind the inlet to prevent turbulence that could let air into the circulation. Though freshly packaged, this pump can begin its life with lots of self-confidence. A few details have been changed. First, we held back a little in performance in order to solve a widespread problem: the volume! Few other pumps can match this one in terms of reducing noise generation from water. For the most up-to-date water cooling systems with CPU and GPU cooling, this pump should be the first choice. Unlike before, this pump does not come in the familiar plastic casing. It has an all-new perfectly tailored brass case gracing its exterior. This new case ensures a longer lifespan for the pump. Air flows through the cooling fins, then over an interior thermal pad directly to the pump board. Another feature is the included decoupling option, if the pump top has an M4 attachment thread, like on the Alphacool Laing DDC Acetal Top. With the special M4 screws, the included decoupling can be screwed into the head of the screws and then attached to the case. The pump ships without a top to facilitate free choice of a top.
