This antihypertensive prototype (LASSBio 897) was developed by the Laboratory for the Evaluation and Synthesis of Bioactive Substances (LASSBio), synthesised from safrole, a compound extracted from sassafras oil, found in Brazilian plants such as white cinnamon. Its vasodilator effects have already been proven in in vitro and in vivo trials, and in this study, it was evaluated in healthy beagle dogs.
