With the Core Ocean AiO, Alphacool presents an all-in-one solution that, thanks to its excellent price-performance ratio, enables entry into performance-oriented CPU water cooling. The difference to the Eisbaer CPU AiO is that the Ocean All-in-One is not expandable. Adding further components such as GPU coolers, radiators or expansion tanks is not intended here. But also not necessary! The choice of components and the design of the Core Ocean enable a long service life with low maintenance for water cooling of all common mainstream sockets from AMD and Intel. Aluminium Radiator Compared to Alphacool's full copper models, the T38 aluminium radiator has additional cooling channels. This technical design allows a significant increase in cooling capacity without restricting the water flow within the radiator. Due to the low height of 38mm, the radiator with single-sided fan assembly fits into the tightest case and enables high-performance water cooling of the CPU. Core fan The fan can be regulated from 0 to 2500 rpm via the 4-pin PWM connection. The cable is 40cm long. This allows the fan to be connected to the mainboard or a special controller without the need for additional adapter cables or extensions. At 2500 rpm, it provides an air flow of 62.8 CFM, together with a high static pressure of 2.13mm/H2O. This makes the fan perfect for mounting on radiators of a water cooling system. Cooler & Pump As with all Alphacool products, the radiator base is made of copper and is equipped with very fine cooling fins distributed over the entire base. A nozzle plate ensures an accelerated flow over the cooling fins, which increases the cooling performance. The water flow is optimised so that all areas of the cooler base are cooled evenly. The cooler is compatible with all common mainstream sockets from AMD and Intel. The built-in pump has a speed range of 2500 - 3500 RPM (+/- 10%) and can be controlled via PWM. The pump is connected to the mainboard or to an external controller via the existing 4-pin fan connector. This allows the speed range of the pump to be controlled and monitored. Hoses & Connections The FEP hoses are 40cm long, sleeved and very flexible. The rotatable 360° connections to the cooler and to the radiator are permanently installed and cannot be replaced. However, the combination of hoses and connectors allows a very variable positioning of the AiO even in the tightest PC case. Illumination 12 digitally addressable 5V RGB LEDs are installed in the pump housing, which create a unique, very noble-looking illumination. The digital aRGB LED lighting is connected via a JST 3-pin connector. The base itself is manufactured from copper, nickel plated copper or .925 sterling silver depending on model.Retention systemThe cuplex kryos NEXT retention system consists of 2.5 mm thick stainless steel plates equipped with nickel plated spring cups. Springs and knurled screws secure the water block on the motherboard, the retention system has a very clean look when installed. All retention system versions feature a mechanical stop for optimum clamping force and even force distribution. The Alphacool Eisschicht Ultra Soft are the ultimate in thermal pads. Their outstanding properties mean they can almost be compared to thermal paste. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft pads fit much better to components, which contributes to excellent cooling performance.Better than standard thermal pads?The ultra-soft material of the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads acts in a similar way to thermal paste. While normal thermal pads are simply pressed together by the contact pressure, which can lead to uneven contact pressure on components of different heights, this is almost impossible with the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads. The material spreads as well as thermal paste and thus prevents the highest components from being subjected to increased contact pressure from the cooler. In the worst case, this can lead to the PCB bending. The soft consistency also fills in any uneven areas much better. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads therefore cling much better to the components, which of course benefits heat transfer.But that’s not the only advantage!The special material also cannot dry out. Usually the silicone in thermal pads bleeds over time. This causes them to become hard and the performance of the pads drops rapidly at a certain point. This is not the case with the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads. They can be used for a much longer period of time without losing any significant performance.A thermal pad with fabric?The consistency of the heat-conducting material is similar to a viscous thermal paste. A special fabric is embedded so that the material remains stable and can be used as a thermal pad. This ensures perfect distribution of the material if the element to be cooled has an uneven shape. Examples of this include voltage converters, VRam and similar electronic components of all kinds that require cooling.Cropping? This ensures significantly higher cooling performance than a monolithic design thanks to finely slotted fins and the resulting increase in the cooling surface. We have chosen the fin structure in such a way that, in addition to increasing the performance of the GPU core, the flow is also kept high. All distances to heat-relevant components have been kept small, which means that the heat from thermal problem areas such as GDDR6X RAM and voltage converters is ideally dissipated. The PEEK spacers made from high-performance plastic ideally insulate the cooler from the circuit board and make installation easier. The legendary Kryonaut thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly ensures the best possible heat transfer. Dual layer inflow and symmetrical cooling design The dual-layer inflow, like the symmetrical cooling design, can also be found in the PRO version of our HEATKILLER V GPU cooler. The increased inflow is particularly important for the high-performance base plate. The splitting of the water into two levels ensures better flow through the cooler. The wide and symmetrical flow paths optimize the flow and thus the general performance of the HEATKILLER V Pro cooler. Selected high-performance thermal pads for GDDR6X Our development department has invested a lot of time in finding the ideal thermal pads for the hot GDDR6X RAMs. We have found a thermal pad that significantly reduces the temperatures around the GDDR6X RAM compared to the very good standard pads. Design-integrated side connection threads Another innovation is the connection threads integrated into the side of the terminal. Together with the screwless cover and the backplate included in the package, the result is a cooler that looks like a single unit. In order to achieve the best possible appearance, the HK V PRO was designed so that no electronic components of the circuit board are visible. Backplate and aRGB in the package The new cooler design relies on assembly including a backplate. In our case, the black backplate ensures improved distribution of forces around the cooling block. In addition to an impressive look, this also results in better temperatures. The aRGB stripes used now have a modular structure and a compact plug-in system. Thanks to the high compatibility of our LEDs, the Heatkiller can be integrated into any lighting concept. The plug-in system also allows the cooler to be used quite easily without lighting.
