The phase change material on which the PhaseSheet PTM is based is solid at room temperature. The material only begins to liquefy at temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius. For optimal distribution of the liquid PhaseSheet PTM and thus the lowest possible layer thickness, a high contact force of around 300-400N is required. PhaseSheet PTM has a very low viscosity in its liquid state and contracts again when it changes to a solid material. This mitigates the pump-out effect. The pump-out effect is particularly pronounced when a copper cooler is combined with a graphics chip, because silicon and copper expand at different lengths when heated. The temperatures under load cause the heat spreader and the base plate to deform (concave or convex) and return to their original shape (straight) when cooled. This causes the thermal paste to slowly be squeezed out, for example between the heat spreader and the base plate of the CPU cooler. PhaseSheet PTM is more durable than traditional thermal pastes, but not as durable as KryoSheet, for example, which is virtually maintenance-free. The maximum thermal conductivity of PhaseSheet PTM develops and stabilizes after about ten heat cycles at 60 degrees Celsius each. Before now, the most common approach to water cooling was to use normal PVC tubes – now Alphacool is offering a new way to configure your water cooling system. The HardTube variants bring more order into your system, which gives off a more structured impression. The newest are the brass tubes, available in black chrome and chrome, as well as acrylic tubes, carbon, and borosilicate glass. With their fitted connectors and simply-designed functionality, they can be connected to each other with an absolutely tight seal. The PETG-tubes can be bent with the appropriate bending tools in order to fit into any system easily, without needing any additional angled pieces. In order to install the tubes into the system, they need to be sawn to the correct length. Optimised for Static Pressure During the development of the new P14 PWM PST, special emphasis was placed on a focused airstream and thus a high static pressure. The fan guarantees extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance. Therefore, the P14 PWM PST is particularly suitable for use on heatsinks and radiators. More Efficient Technology The motor is powered by a Neodym-Iron-Boron-Magnet ring of the newest generation, which allows the new P14 PWM PST to run much more efficiently than its predecessors. This saves energy and lowers the coil temperature without comprimising the performance. Maximum Quietness, Minimum Vibration Even at low speeds the operating sound of the new ARCTIC motor is barely noticeable. Due to a sinus-magnetizing the new motor only creates about 5 % of the vibration from commutation of a regular DC-motor without filter. Consequently, there is no need for rubber spacers due to the steady and smooth torque of the new motor. Extended Life Span A 10 °C lower motor temperature roughly doubles the life span of a fan. The new ARCTIC motor has a four times longer service life through its low coil temperature.
