Of course, Alphacool only uses copper for its water coolers. With the Aurora GPX-A 6800XT/6900XT Eisblock, the copper is nickel-plated. Compared to its predecessor models, Alphacool has improved the nickel plating even further, which has considerably increased the acid resistance. This means that the nickel should resist flaking. Why does Alphacool rely on copper instead of aluminium? Simply, copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminium and is therefore clearly the better material for water cooling. Is There Anything Else New? The Eisblock Aurora GPX-A 6800XT/6900XT also relies on the new patented stop fittings, which sit flush with the surface of the terminal. The Alphacool logo now sits in the corner on the top and is also fully illuminated. On the front of the terminal you can see the corresponding names of the compatible graphic card types. The Eisbaer Aurora LT Solo combines CPU cooling block, reservoir and pump in one product. The low construction height allows flexible use in a wide range of scenarios. Especially in small cases with little space, the Eisbaer Aurora LT Solo can convince. The product is also used as the basis of Alphacool's popular AiO water coolers. Radiator & Pump As with all Alphacool products, the radiator base is made of nickel-plated copper and is equipped with very fine cooling fins that are distributed over the entire base. A nozzle plate provides an accelerated flow over the cooling fins which increases the cooling performance. The water flow is optimized so that all areas of the cooler base are cooled evenly. With the “Eisbaer”, Alphacool is fundamentally revolutionizing the AIO cooler market. Where traditional AIO CPU-coolers are disposable products which are neither upgradeable nor refillable, the Alphacool “Eisbaer” is modularly built and can be upgraded, rebuilt or refilled at any time. This means that the “Eisbaer” is not only an AIO, but also fully built on classic water cooling components. That means it is quieter and more powerful than the average AIO solution. Radiator Alphacool depends on a radiator made of pure copper. The base of the radiator is the popular Alphacool NexXxoS series, which is well-loved around the world. The pure copper construction raises the cooling performance enormously compared to the usual aluminium radiators used in classic AIOs. The slight thickness of the fins ensures enormous cooling power in fans with low rotational speed. This ensures that the performance of the “Eisbaer” when adjusting the fans down decreases much more slowly than in radiators with higher fin thickness. Hoses The flexible PVC hoses make installing the “Eisbaer” easy. These hoses are easier to arrange and move into the right position. So the hoses don’t bend and stop the flow of the water, both hoses have been fit-ted with anti-kink springs. The 11/8 mm size is also a standard in the water cooling field, alongside the 13/10 and 16/10. Quick-lock closure The “Eisbaer” was designed with expandability directly in mind. This is why you’ll find a quick-lock closure on one of the hoses. This quick-lock mechanism is compatible with Alphacool HF quick-lock closures (1010383, 1010394, 1010395, 1010442), with which the circuit can easily be expanded to include anything from a radiator to a graphics card cooler. Furthermore, the “Eisbaer” is compatible with the upcoming Alphacool GPX-Pro graphics card AIO, which will use identical quick-lock closures. Connectors All connectors are based on the classic G1/4 inch thread, the standard thread in the water cooling field. This way, all attachments can be switched out for others any time as desired. This also means that, for example, you could later decide to switch to thicker hoses or even HardTubes and set your system uniquely apart. The Alphacool Eisblock XPX 1U is the Enterprise Solutions version of the well-known and popular Eisblock XPX CPU water cooler. It has been specially optimized for use in 1U server racks and has extended connection options. This allows for more connection options in the very tight 1U server racks and integrate it easily into a cooling loop. Many Connection Options Thanks to its extremely flat design, the Eisblock XPX 1U fits into any 1U server case. Due to the flat design of a 1U server rack, no inlets or outlets can be used on top of the CPU cooler as the total height of the CPU cooler including the fittings would no longer fit. Therefore, the Eisblock XPX 1U has further connection possibilities on the side of the cooler. There are altogether 3 x IN and 4 x OUT, with 2 x In and 3 x OUT mounted on the side. Straight fittings up to a size of 13/10 mm can be connected at the side. The Alphacool TPV connectors, which were specially developed for the Enterprise Solutions series, are ideal. Larger fittings can be used, but only in specific circumstances with angled adapters. The fittings on top of the CPU cooler can of course be used as usual with all connections up to a size of 16 mm outside diameter, no matter whether for soft tube or HardTubes. High Performance The Eisblock XPX has been called the most powerful CPU water cooler by many independent media. This also applies to the Eisblock XPX 1U as it contains the same technology. The only slight change is to the patented ramp system for optimal waterflow. This has been adapted to allow the new lateral connections. The base plate offers 81 cooling fins covering an area of 34 x 32 mm. The fins are only 0.2 mm thick. This allows for the largest possible area for heat dissipation through the water. Simple Assembly The backplate is attached to the mainboard from behind. Then the mounting frame and the mounting screws (which can be pre-assembled seperately) are attached directly on the CPU block. Then it is a simple job of screwing the CPU block and mounting frame to the backplate. Mounting material for all mainstream sockets from AMD and Intel is included. We do not include the mounting materials for some Intel Xeon sockets and the AMD Threadripper as we recommend the Eisblock XPX Pro series for these. The Alphacool XPX Aurora Pro Light is the little sister of the XPX Pro CPU liquid cooling block. It offers a clearer design but does without the ramp system of the XPX Pro models. This eliminates the view of the water channels, giving a much clearer look to the coolant. Like the other XPX Pro models, the cooler has been specially optimized for AMD Threadripper, Intel LGA 3647 and 2011/2066 processors. How is the CPU cooler illuminated? As with all new Eisblock CPU water coolers, Alphacool uses an integrated aRGB solution. Under the black frame there are 14 Digital RGB LEDs are mounted around the entire cooler. Each of these 5V aRGB LEDs can be controlled separately. This means that all known effects are possible, depending on the selected controller. There are controllers are available from Alphacool, but also many mainboards offer a 3-pin 5V aRGB connector to control the LEDs of the Eisblock Aurora Pro Light. The cable ends in a 3-pin JST connector with integrated Y-adapter to connect further Alphacool components directly. A corresponding 3-pin JST to 3-pin V adapter is included in the delivery. Extremely powerful The coldplate has been specially optimized for the large processor cores. A total of 147 cooling fins run over an area of around 42 x 58.6 mm. For comparison: An Alphacool XPX Aurora Eisblock requires only 81 cooling fins to completely cover the processor core of a normal CPU. Both coolers use the same type of fins with a thickness of only 0.2 mm. This clearly shows how far Alphacool has gone in order to offer the best possible performance. The entire cooler base is of course made of nickel-plated copper and not aluminium. This is because the thermal conductivity of copper is known to be almost twice as high as that of aluminium. Is installation difficult? The assembly is extremely easy. You remove the protective foil from the cooler bottom, spread some of the enclosed thermal paste on the CPU and then attach the cooler. Depending on the base, the mounting screws are screwed on before or after the cooler is put on. No tools are necessary for the installation. The Eisblock XPX Aurora Edge is a powerful CPU cooler that shows its strength especially on multi-core processors with 4, 6, 8, 12 and more CPU cores. The total area of the cooling channels on the CPU cooler base is 34 x 32 mm. This means that the Eisblock XPX Aurora Edge cooler also copes with large CPU DIEs. Performance in overflow! The Eisblock XPX Aurora Edge has a special injection technology that was developed and patented by Alphacool itself. The so-called "ramp system" is located in front of the nozzle plate and ensures an even flow of water within the cooler. The water is pressed through the nozzle plate in a controlled manner and distributed evenly over the cooler base. The radiator bottom itself has 81 cooling fins with a fin structure of only 0.2 mm per fin. In this way, the largest possible surface area has been created in the available space in order to dissipate the CPU's waste heat to the water as quickly as possible. The first step was to move the cooler closer to the individual components by reducing the thermal pads to a thickness of 1 mm. Next, we reduced the thickness of the nickel-plated copper block. Instead of 7 mm, it is now only 5.5 mm thick. The water flow inside the cooler has also been optimized. All important components such as the voltage transformers and the memory are now significantly better and more effectively cooled by the water. The Eisblock Aurora GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 XC3 Ultra Gaming cooler has been designed so that lighting is more important than the previous models. The addressable digital RGB LEDs are embedded directly into the cooling block and run along the entire cooling block. The effect is an illumination of the entire cooling block. No corner or edge remains unlit by the aRGB LEDs. The new design is more angular with all edges bevelled. Of course, Alphacool only uses copper for its water coolers. With the Aurora GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 XC3 Ultra Gaming Eisblock, the copper is nickel-plated. Compared to its predecessor models, Alphacool has improved the nickel plating even further, which has considerably increased the acid resistance. This means that the nickel should resist flaking. Why does Alphacool rely on copper instead of aluminium? Simply, copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminium and is therefore clearly the better material for water cooling. Is There Anything Else New? The Eisblock Aurora GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 XC3 Ultra Gaming also relies on the new patented stop fittings, which sit flush with the surface of the terminal. The Alphacool Eiswolf 2 is the first full cover GPU AIO waterblock from Alphacool. It is based on the Alphacool GPX Eisblock Aurora GPX water block, a pump unit and a 360mm NexXxoS ST30 full copper radiator. The latter is equipped with the Alphacool Aurora Rise Digital RGB fans. Fullcover Waterblock? The Eiswolf 2 graphics card AIO water block not only cools the GPU with liquid but also all relevant components that require active cooling. This includes the graphics memory, the VRM and, if necessary, other components that require direct cooling. By using the Eisblock GPX Aurora water cooler, the cooling capacity is identical to that of a DIY graphics card water cooler. Chrome-plated copper The cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers. Pump The Eiswolf 2 has a pump unit in place of the normal connection terminal. This pump unit houses the DC-LT 2 pump. An improved and quieter version of the well-known DC-LT Low Noise Ceramic Pump. Despite looking rather large, the pump unit is only 5 mm wider than a normal connection terminal. Fittings and Tubing As with all new AIO units, Alphacool uses only TPV hoses from the Enterprise Solution range for (usually reserved for servers and workstations) in the Eiswolf 2. The tubing is made of EPDM/PP and are extremely heat-resistant, durable, and free of plasticizers. All fittings are also based on the Enterprise Solution range and match the TPV hoses perfectly. Expandability By using the quick-release fastener, the Eiswolf 2 can be connected to another Alphacool AIO unit to achieve a larger loop in seconds. Alphacool offers various prefilled components with which the loop can be easily extended. For safety reasons, the quick-release fasteners are firmly screwed together and not just plugged together. Lighting and fans The Eiswolf 2 cooler has a digital RGB LED lighting, also called addressable RGB LEDs. They run along the entire back of the graphics card cooler and provide complete illumination of the water cooler. The pump unit is more discreet and offers a green glowing logo for Nvidia and a red glowing logo for AMD cards. The name "Eiswolf" on the pump unit remains unlit, discreetly in the background. The fan used is the Aurora Rise with 120mm. Due to the special blade design, the fan is extremely quiet and the addressable RGB LEDs provide brilliant illumination. The Alphacool Aurora Rise fan convinces with a max. static pressure of 3.17mm/H2O and offers a max. air flow of 119.8m3/h. The PWM control allows the fan to be controlled over a wide speed range. In addition, it offers a zero control. It can therefore be regulated down to 0 rpm and then starts with approx. 350 rpm. NexXxoS Radiator As with all AIO units, Alphacool uses radiators from the world renowned NexXxoS series. The full copper radiators offer a much higher cooling capacity than aluminium radiators and have contributed significantly to Alphacool's worldwide success. The combination of all of the components results in a solution that is as simple as an AIO solution to install, but with the performance of a pre-assembled and prefilled custom loop. Technical note! Due to long storage times and various transport routes, the liquid in the Eiswolf 2 AIO remains still for a long time. The ingredients of the liquid can therefore deposit and lead to a brownish discoloration. As soon as the pump starts operating, the ingredients mix again and the liquid should regain an approximately clear color. This is not a reason for complaint as neither the performance nor the function of the AIO are restricted by this.
