Every water cooling system requires either soft or hard tubing to connect the individual components such as radiators, waterblocks and reservoirs. PVC is usually used for soft tubing it has many fantastic properties that make it easy to work with and it is cheap. However, Alphacool is now bringing a new material from the Alphacool Enterprise Solutions series across to the everyday user. This tubing is called Alphacool AlphaTube TPV and is the choice of tubing for industries. What is the advantage of TPV? Compared to PVC hoses, the AlphaTube TPV hoses offer various advantages for water cooling. It is much more resistant to acids and alkalis. It is also much more temperature resistant than PVC tubing. The Alphacool AlphaTube TPV can withstand temperatures up to 155°C. While PVC hoses begin to warp at higher water temperatures. This means areas with tighter bends will warp but the TPV hose remains stable in its shape. This eliminates the risk of kinks in tubing and the restriction of flow. How is AlphaTube TPV installed? The Alphacool AlphaTube TPV hose is as easy and simple to install as any other PVC hose. It is slightly stiffer, but only very slightly. Handling the TPV hose is just as simple as any other soft tubing. What is special about a tpv hose? The difference to the Eisbaer CPU AiO is that the Ocean All-in-One is not expandable. Adding further components such as GPU coolers, radiators or expansion tanks is not intended here. The new Eiszapfen PRO hard tube fittings from Alphacool are the next step in development for the familiar Eiszapfen fittings. In the development of the fittings Alphacool concentrated on a specific problem, deforming PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. PETG can start to deform at 60°C. Although such a temperature is usually rarely reached, it can still occur. The Eiszapfen PRO fittings prevent this problem from the outset and hold the tubes in position. The deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts inside and stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, the fitting still has an O-ring and a compression seal. However, the contact area is much larger than with normal O-rings, which provides a better grip. With the insert and the compression seal, the tube is strengthened from the inside and outside. Even under heavy loads the HardTube does not slip. Alphacool has tested the tensile strength of up to over 8kg, so there is no need to worry about loose tubing. A total of 16 2mm wide copper tubes along the entire length of the radiator ensure optimal coolant flow and do not burden your cooling loop. EK would not recommend a push/pull setup on an EK-Quantum S-Series surface radiator as it does not provide a proportional increase in performance. Loop friendly – Don’t worry about your pump The internal structure of the coolers has been designed with low flow restriction so as not to place unnecessary strain on the rest of the cooling loop. This means that you can add multiple radiators to your cooling loop using just a single pump (D5 or DDC). The coolers are also airflow friendly and low restriction, allowing operation at lower fan speeds while maintaining the same performance. Low airflow restriction ensures that the case is well ventilated and other radiators in the case can breathe properly. EK-Matrix7 compatible – for the cleanest pipe runs Since each custom liquid cooling loop is made up of multiple EK products, the most valuable difference in terms of aesthetics and usability comes from the sum of all the parts. To address this problem, EK launched Matrix7, a system that standardizes product dimensions and connector location and spacing. This way, we make liquid cooling loop assembly more intuitive and ensure a clean set of parallel pipe runs easier than ever before.
