In order to dissipate the enormous heat of this graphics card generation in the best possible way, numerous optimizations have been made to the water cooler compared to the previous model. The fin structure was adapted and enables a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified jet plate with improved inflow engine ensures an optimal distribution of the water on the cooling fins.Technical HighlightsThe fin structure of this Eisblock cooler generation was developed together with Nvidia board partners. The fin thickness is 0.4 mm, the distance between the cooling fins is 0.4 mm. This ensures a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The jet plate has a revised inlay that spreads the water pressure better over the fins thus optimizing the heat absorption. The adjusted water inflow gives the water a better angle of inflow.Chrome-plated copperThe cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers. DesignThe Aurora design of the Geforce RTX 40XX Eisblock generation is visually calmer and simpler. Only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The electrically non-conductive thermal compund is particularly well suited for high contact pressures, but can still be processed perfectly due to its viscosity of 850,000 TF. Alphacool Soft Pads with 0,5mm thickness are used on the voltage converter and the graphics memory. The thermal conductivity of the pads is 7 W/mK. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick and have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK. The Alphacool Eisschicht Ultra Soft are the ultimate in thermal pads. Their outstanding properties mean they can almost be compared to thermal paste. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft pads fit much better to components, which contributes to excellent cooling performance.Better than standard thermal pads?The ultra-soft material of the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads acts in a similar way to thermal paste. While normal thermal pads are simply pressed together by the contact pressure, which can lead to uneven contact pressure on components of different heights, this is almost impossible with the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads. The material spreads as well as thermal paste and thus prevents the highest components from being subjected to increased contact pressure from the cooler. In the worst case, this can lead to the PCB bending. The soft consistency also fills in any uneven areas much better. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads therefore cling much better to the components, which of course benefits heat transfer.But that’s not the only advantage!The special material also cannot dry out. Usually the silicone in thermal pads bleeds over time. This causes them to become hard and the performance of the pads drops rapidly at a certain point. This is not the case with the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads. They can be used for a much longer period of time without losing any significant performance.A thermal pad with fabric?The consistency of the heat-conducting material is similar to a viscous thermal paste. A special fabric is embedded so that the material remains stable and can be used as a thermal pad. This ensures perfect distribution of the material if the element to be cooled has an uneven shape. Examples of this include voltage converters, VRam and similar electronic components of all kinds that require cooling.Cropping? No problem!When cutting the thermal pads, you should definitely leave the foil on the pads. This means that the pads can be easily cut to size with scissors. It's just as easy as cutting paper. The Alphacool Eiswolf 2 is the first full cover GPU AIO waterblock from Alphacool. It is based on the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora GPX water block, a pump unit and a 360mm NexXxoS ST30 full copper radiator. The latter is equipped with the Alphacool Aurora Rise Digital RGB fans.Fullcover Waterblock?The Eiswolf 2 graphics card AIO water block not only cools the GPU with liquid but also all relevant components that require active cooling. All fittings are also based on the Enterprise Solution range and match the TPV hoses perfectly.ExpandabilityBy using the quick-release fastener, the Eiswolf 2 can be connected to another Alphacool AIO unit to achieve a larger loop in seconds. Alphacool offers various prefilled components with which the loop can be easily extended. For safety reasons, the quick-release fasteners are firmly screwed together and not just plugged together.Lighting and fansThe Eiswolf 2 cooler has a digital RGB LED lighting, also called addressable RGB LEDs. They run along the entire back of the graphics card cooler and provide complete illumination of the water cooler. The pump unit is more discreet and offers a green glowing logo for Nvidia and a red glowing logo for AMD cards. The name "Eiswolf" on the pump unit remains unlit, discreetly in the background. The fan used is the Aurora Rise with 120mm. Due to the special blade design, the fan is extremely quiet and the addressable RGB LEDs provide brilliant illumination. The Alphacool Aurora Rise fan convinces with a max. static pressure of 3.17mm/H2O and offers a max. air flow of 119.8m3/h. The PWM control allows the fan to be controlled over a wide speed range. In addition, it offers a zero control. It can therefore be regulated down to 0 rpm and then starts with approx. 350 rpm.NexXxoS RadiatorAs with all AIO units, Alphacool uses radiators from the world renowned NexXxoS series. The full copper radiators offer a much higher cooling capacity than aluminium radiators and have contributed significantly to Alphacool's worldwide success.The combination of all of the components results in a solution that is as simple as an AIO solution to install, but with the performance of a pre-assembled and prefilled custom loop.Technical note!Due to long storage times and various transport routes, the liquid in the Eiswolf 2 AIO remains still for a long time. The ingredients of the liquid can therefore deposit and lead to a brownish discoloration. As soon as the pump starts operating, the ingredients mix again and the liquid should regain an approximately clear color. This is not a reason for complaint as neither the performance nor the function of the AIO are restricted by this. Das macht den Wasserkühler leichter im Vergleich zu Alphacool's Eisblöcken mit Acetal- oder Acryltop. Dieser Kühler ist 1 Slot kompatibel!Mehr Performance!Alphacool gelingt es, den Kühler auf bestmögliche Weise nah an die zu kühlenden Bauteile zu positionieren. Dafür werden die verwendeten Wärmeleitpads auf eine Dicke vom 1mm reduziert. Die maximal mögliche Reduzierung der Stärke des Kupferblocks und die Optimierung des Wasserflusses innerhalb des Kühlers erlauben, dass alle wichtigen Bauteile wie GPU, Spannungswandler und VRAMs deutlich besser und effektiver vom Wasser gekühlt werden. Das alles sorgt für eine signifikante Steigerung der Kühlleistung.Verchromtes KupferDer Kühler besteht vollständig aus verchromten Kupfer. Eine Verchromung ist wesentlich härter als eine Vernickelung und dadurch unempfindlicher gegen Säuren, Kratzer und Schäden. Die Gefahr von abplatzenden Vernickelungen ist dadurch vollständig beseitigt. Zusätzlich sieht die Verchromung wesentlich homogener aus und bietet einen Glanz, der durch eine Vernickelung nicht erreicht werden kann.Anschlüsse an der Rückseite?Um in der Breite und Höhe Platz beim Einbau zu sparen, wurden Ein- und Ausgang hinten am Kühlblock verlegt. Diese Positionierung der Anschlüsse erleichtert die Verschlauchung erheblich und ermöglicht so die einfache Einbindung des GPU Kühlers in den Wasserkreislauf auch in den engsten Server Gehäusen.Kupfer oder Aluminium?Alphacool verwendet ausschließlich Kupfer bei allen wasserführenden Teilen. Kupfer verfügt über eine fast doppelt so hohe Wärmeleitfähigkeit wie Aluminium und ist daher die deutlich bessere Materialwahl für eine Wasserkühlung. Der verchromte Kupferboden ist hochgradig säureresistent, wodurch ein Abplatzen der Verchromung ausgeschlossen werden kann.Wärmeleitpaste & WärmeleitpadsDie elektrisch nicht leitende Wärmeleitpaste ist besonders gut geeignet für hohe Anpressdrücke, lässt sich aber aufgrund der Viskosität von 850000 TF trotzdem perfekt verarbeiten.
