The Alphacool Eiswolf 2 is the first full cover GPU AIO waterblock from Alphacool. It is based on the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora GPX water block, a pump unit and a 360mm NexXxoS ST30 full copper radiator. The latter is equipped with the Alphacool Aurora Rise Digital RGB fans.Fullcover Waterblock?The Eiswolf 2 graphics card AIO water block not only cools the GPU with liquid but also all relevant components that require active cooling. This includes the graphics memory, the VRM and, if necessary, other components that require direct cooling. By using the Eisblock GPX Aurora water cooler, the cooling capacity is identical to that of a DIY graphics card water cooler.PumpThe Eiswolf 2 has a pump unit in place of the normal connection terminal. This pump unit houses the DC-LT 2 pump. An improved and quieter version of the well-known DC-LT Low Noise Ceramic Pump. Despite looking rather large, the pump unit is only 5 mm wider than a normal connection terminal.Fittings and TubingAs with all new AIO units, Alphacool uses only TPV hoses from the Enterprise Solution range for (usually reserved for servers and workstations) in the Eiswolf 2. The tubing is made of EPDM/PP and are extremely heat-resistant, durable, and free of plasticizers. All fittings are also based on the Enterprise Solution range and match the TPV hoses perfectly.ExpandabilityBy using the quick-release fastener, the Eiswolf 2 can be connected to another Alphacool AIO unit to achieve a larger loop in seconds. Alphacool offers various prefilled components with which the loop can be easily extended. For safety reasons, the quick-release fasteners are firmly screwed together and not just plugged together.Lighting and fansThe Eiswolf 2 cooler has a digital RGB LED lighting, also called addressable RGB LEDs. They run along the entire back of the graphics card cooler and provide complete illumination of the water cooler. The pump unit is more discreet and offers a green glowing logo for Nvidia and a red glowing logo for AMD cards. The name "Eiswolf" on the pump unit remains unlit, discreetly in the background. The fan used is the Aurora Rise with 120mm. Due to the special blade design, the fan is extremely quiet and the addressable RGB LEDs provide brilliant illumination. The Alphacool Aurora Rise fan convinces with a max. static pressure of 3.17mm/H2O and offers a max. air flow of 119.8m3/h. The PWM control allows the fan to be controlled over a wide speed range. In addition, it offers a zero control. It can therefore be regulated down to 0 rpm and then starts with approx. 350 rpm.NexXxoS RadiatorAs with all AIO units, Alphacool uses radiators from the world renowned NexXxoS series. The full copper radiators offer a much higher cooling capacity than aluminium radiators and have contributed significantly to Alphacool's worldwide success.The combination of all of the components results in a solution that is as simple as an AIO solution to install, but with the performance of a pre-assembled and prefilled custom loop.Technical note!Due to long storage times and various transport routes, the liquid in the Eiswolf 2 AIO remains still for a long time. The ingredients of the liquid can therefore deposit and lead to a brownish discoloration. As soon as the pump starts operating, the ingredients mix again and the liquid should regain an approximately clear color. This is not a reason for complaint as neither the performance nor the function of the AIO are restricted by this. Reinvent the tube The Eisbecher Series consist of 20 different reservoirs that differ between usage, measurement and appearance. There are ten reservoirs within this series that consist of 99% plexi - totally unique! But the main difference between these reservoirs is within the functionality of the different sockets. Constituents Bubble DownIt is placed at the bottom of the reservoir to prevent turbulences that could lead air into the watercircle. Lighttower StandpipeThe "Lighttower" effect creates an astounding visual experience within every watercooling system. The Eisbecher supports this in two different ways: fluid coming from the bottom and coming from the top. The water is being led through the standpipe to the bottom or to the top where it splashes out of eight evenly distributed holes at the end of the pipe to the inner wall of the reservoir. This special watergame is the so called "Lighttower" effect. StandThe known feet from the "Eisdecken" find its very way even to the Eisbecher and sustain every combination with a solid stand. MountingsThere are two mountings placed above and under the pipe for fastening the lot in the casing. The holes in this mounting have a spacing of a 120/140 cooling fan.You can reduce the width of the mountings up to the width of the reservoir and there are three M4 threads availaible per mounting for fastening if you would rather not mount the reservoir at the fan space. These mountings are easily removeable especially when not being used. You will find these mountings on all 20 reservoirs. Lighting moduleThe lighting modules consist of plexi and enable the lighting with a 5mm LED. These modules can be installed into all 1/4" holes. They are being used in the lid and occasionally in the socket of the reservoir. This facilitates a unique way to your personalised lighting effects. MaterialAll models of the reservoir are availaible in acetal and plexi. So there is something for everone. Measurements All reservoirs are availaible in two different sizes: the 150mm version and the 10cm bigger 250mm version. The smaller reservoir comes with only one standpipe coming from the bottom because of its size and the bigger reservoir comes with two: one coming from the top and the other one from the bottom. The Eisbecher There are two additional versions for everyone that would rather operate the pump seperately. The Bubble Down and depending on the size one or two standpipes that fascilitate the "Lighttower" effect and two lighting modules one from the top and the other one from the bottom are being used here. And there are additional three LED holes for the plexi version to maximize the lighting power. The Alphacool Eisschicht Ultra Soft are the ultimate in thermal pads. Their outstanding properties mean they can almost be compared to thermal paste. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft pads fit much better to components, which contributes to excellent cooling performance.Better than standard thermal pads?The ultra-soft material of the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads acts in a similar way to thermal paste. While normal thermal pads are simply pressed together by the contact pressure, which can lead to uneven contact pressure on components of different heights, this is almost impossible with the Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads. The material spreads as well as thermal paste and thus prevents the highest components from being subjected to increased contact pressure from the cooler. In the worst case, this can lead to the PCB bending. The soft consistency also fills in any uneven areas much better. The Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pads therefore cling much better to the components, which of course benefits heat transfer.But that’s not the only advantage!The special material also cannot dry out. Usually the silicone in thermal pads bleeds over time. This causes them to become hard and the performance of the pads drops rapidly at a certain point. They can be used for a much longer period of time without losing any significant performance.A thermal pad with fabric?The consistency of the heat-conducting material is similar to a viscous thermal paste.
