All reservoirs of the aqualis series are equipped with a borosilicate glass tube. In contrast to acrylic glass, which is often used for tube reservoirs, borosilicate glass is extremele hard and scratch-resistant, features superb thermal and chemical resistance and a very low thermal expansion. The glass tube of the 450 ml and 880 ml variants has an outer diameter of 75 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. Base and top of the aqualis reservoirs are made from Delrin and connected by a stainless steel tube. As a optical highlight, a fountain effect can be realized. If the return line is connected to the center connector of the reservoir, the water flows through the stainless steel tube to the top of the reservoir, where it is ejected through eight nozzles. In combination with illumination, this is a real eye catcher effect. A thin acrylic plate near to the bottom of the reservoir reduces air ingestion to a minimum. Alternatively, the return line can be connected to a lateral connector of the reservoir, the water then exits directly from the base part. For this configuration, a deflector plate is included in delivery to ensure can be installed to effectively remove air from the water circuit. The aqualis PRO 450/880 ml variants additionally feature an acrylic window in the base part and up to six LEDs (5 mm size) can be installed into the base part. The PRO variants can be upgraded with an electronic fill level sensor at a later date. The aqualis XT 450/880 ml variants feature the same acrylic window and LED mounting as the PRO variants. Additionally, the XT variants feature an electronic fill level sensor with USB and aquabus interface, a programmable alarm output and an external temperature sensor input. For monitoring and configuration, the aquasuite software can be downloaded free of charge. In addition to the USB interface, the 4-pin aquabus interface can be used to directly connect the fill level sensor to an aquaero 5 controller (not included in delivery). The alarm output can be configured to be used as a rpm signal to be connected to a fan connector with fault detection (for example motherboard fan headers) or to be used as a switched output for example to connect a LED. Fill level and external temperature sensor input can be configured to raise an alarm. The external temperature sensor input is compatible with all Aqua Computer temperature sensors. All variants are also available with nano coating that will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the borosilicate glass tube. Just as the airplex modularity series, no welding is performed during production of the airplex radical series, preventing any welding residues inside the radiator. The coolant does not have contact to any other materials than seals, Delrin, copper and stainless steel.For an improved and easier installation process, the airplex radical series comes with threaded inserts made from nickel plated brass that protrude into the mounting holes of the fans. Therefore, fans are "automatically" correctly aligned to the threads - extremely convenient especially with large radiators! With the Alphacool XPX Aurora Pro Eisblock, Alphacool offers a CPU water cooler specially designed for processors with particularly large processor cores. These currently include the AMD Threadripper models and processors from Intel for the LGA 2066 socket and the LGA 3647 server socket in narrow ILM design. As a CPU cooler from the Aurora Design line, the CPU cooler naturally offers integrated digital aRGB lighting.Extremely powerfulThe cooler base has been specially optimized for the large processor cores. With an area of 42 x 58.6 mm and 147 cooling fins the cooling area has been significantly increased. As a comparison, an Alphacool XPX Aurora Eisblock has 81 cooling fins to completely cover the processor core of a normal CPU. Both coolers use the same fin type with a thickness of only 0.2 mm. This clearly shows how far Alphacool has gone to offer the best possible performance. The entire cooler base is of course made of nickel-plated copper and not aluminium. This is due to the increased thermal conductivity of copper. It is almost twice as high as that of aluminium.How is the CPU cooler illuminated?As with all new Eisblock CPU water coolers, Alphacool relies on an integrated aRGB solution. An aluminium frame is flush with the CPU cooler. Of course, the aluminium does not come into contact with the water. The LED frame contains up to 14 addressable digital RGB LEDs. This is more than enough to illuminate the entire cooler even and brightly. The intensity of the illumination can of course be controlled by an appropriate controller. Due to the use of digital RGB LEDs, all known effects can be created, because each LED can be controlled separately with the right controller. The step towards perfectionThe new Alphacool AGB comes in three different models. You can either connect a Laing DDC, the Alphacool DC-LT or the Laing D5/Alphacool VPP655 at the backplate depending on the model which you use. The brushed plate provides an optical finishing touch which is underlined by the high quality processing. The front consists of a scretch-secure soft-touch surface painted in black-matt. The Eisfach is mounted in two of the front 5,25" bays which provides a good overview of the container and the fill level is easily being checked through the lighted window at the back. Additionally, the Alphacool logo in the front can be lighted by connecting the 3-pin connector with a power source. A lot of details complement the first impression! Two 1/4" holes at the top side are available for the first filling. To refill you can simply remove and extract the fillport in the front and two 1/4" holes at the bottom side facilitate the draining of the liquid. There are two lighting modules at the right hand side at the back of the container behind the window for 5mm LEDs. This provides a unique opportunity for personalised lighting and optic. Further two holes at the left hand side provide additional opportunities to fill or drain the liquid. The last two 1/4" threads are used to fill or drain the container.
