Instead of 7 mm, it is now only 5.5 mm thick. The water flow inside the cooler has also been optimized. Why does Alphacool rely on copper instead of aluminium? Simply, copper has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminium and is therefore clearly the better material for water cooling.Is There Anything Else New?The Eisblock Aurora RADEON RX 6800/6900(XT) also relies on the new patented stop fittings, which sit flush with the surface of the terminal. The Alphacool Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 Turbo was specially developed for the Alphacool Enterprise series. The full-cover cooler with aluminium backplate cools the GPU and all important components such as voltage converters and the graphics memory directly with water. Connections to the top? Server cases offer different dimensions than normal PC cases. To save space in width and height, the connections were moved to the top. Another advantage is that it is easier to connect the tubing of a complete server rack with this kind of positioning of the connections. This means that even quick-release fasteners with G1/4" external thread can be screwed directly to the graphics card as already offered by Alphacool. More performance! The Alphacool Helix Eisbecher captivates with its unique Helix Optic, including elegant aluminium caps for its upper and bottom sides. The 60mm diameter version also offers a UV cathode tube to illuminate UV-reactive water from within. The helix inside the reservoir gives off a unique effect reminiscent of a strand of DNA, making it a real eye-catcher. In the middle of the reservoir is a UV cathode tube powered over a 4-pin plug. If UV-reactive water is used, the cathode tube will create a strong glow from the inside of the reservoir, making for a unique effect that really impresses. The base and top are made entirely of acetal, but are covered with aluminium caps for an elegant look. The aluminium caps do not come in contact with the water, of course. The installation options are considerable, with three G1/4 threads in both the bottom and top. The bottom also has two extra G1/4 connection points. This gives you lots of options for positioning your reservoir. You'll also receive two different installation sets. One of them is well-known from the Eisbecher series - the aluminium brackets that lock flush with the top and bottom of the Eisbecher and provide the option of mounting on a radiator. This requires a 240 or 280mm radiator or a larger equivalent, such as a 360 or 420mm. The alternative installation set is a clip bracket, made up of two clips which are fastened to the case with one screw each. The next generation - the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water cooler for Radeon RX 7XXX graphics cards. In order to dissipate the enormous heat of this graphics card generation in the best possible way, numerous optimizations have been made to the water cooler compared to the previous model. The fin structure was adapted and enables a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified jet plate with improved inflow engine ensures an optimal distribution of the water on the cooling fins.Technical HighlightsThe fin structure of this Eisblock cooler generation was developed together with AMD board partners. The fin thickness is 0.4 mm, the distance between the cooling fins is 0.4 mm. This ensures a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The jet plate has a revised inlay that spreads the water pressure better over the fins thus optimizing the heat absorption. The adjusted water inflow gives the water a better angle of inflow.Chrome-plated copperThe cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers.DesignThe Aurora design of the Radeon RX 7XXX Eisblock generation is visually calmer and simpler. Only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The design around the cooling fins and jetplate makes for a cleaner look. The illumination of the digitally addressable RGB LEDs is even better distributed throughout the cooler as a result of the chrome plating. The terminal's design is in line with the classic Aurora design.Thermal paste & thermal padsThe included thermal compound is Alphacool's Subzero. With a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK, it is one of the highest performing thermal pastes on the market. The electrically non-conductive thermal compund is particularly well suited for high contact pressures, but can still be processed perfectly due to its viscosity of 850.000 TF. Alphacool Soft Pads with 1mm thickness are used on the voltage converter and the graphics memory. The thermal conductivity of the pads is 7 W/mK. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick and have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK. The Alphacool Eisbecher Aurora glass reservoir uses a real glass tube rather than the usual plastic tube that Alphacool usually relies on. The embedded 5V digital RGB LED ring and the new design makes the reservoir look magnificent. Of course, the Lighttower water effect is used again. The mounting can be done via feet but also mounted on 120 or 140mm fan mounts or even directly to a radiator.Extensive mounting optionsThere are two basic mounting options, but these can be used in a versatile way. The Eisbecher Aurora glass reservoir has feet included so that it can be mounted to the bottom of the case, for example. However, Alphacool also includes mounting frames with which the Eisbecher Aurora can also be mounted on any 120 or 140 mm fan location. This also means you can mount directly on to radiator or fans.Digital RGB lighting12 aRGB LEDs illuminate the glass tube of the reservoir They are located in a ring at the bottom of the glass tube and are not visible from the outside. The Alphacool Eiswolf 2 is the first full cover GPU AIO waterblock from Alphacool. It is based on the Alphacool GPX Eisblock Aurora GPX water block, a pump unit and a 360mm NexXxoS ST30 full copper radiator. The latter is equipped with the Alphacool Aurora Rise Digital RGB fans.Fullcover Waterblock?The Eiswolf 2 graphics card AIO water block not only cools the GPU with liquid but also all relevant components that require active cooling. This includes the graphics memory, the VRM and, if necessary, other components that require direct cooling. By using the Eisblock GPX Aurora water cooler, the cooling capacity is identical to that of a DIY graphics card water cooler.Chrome-plated copperThe cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. This pump unit houses the DC-LT 2 pump. An improved and quieter version of the well-known DC-LT Low Noise Ceramic Pump. Despite looking rather large, the pump unit is only 5 mm wider than a normal connection terminal.Fittings and TubingAs with all new AIO units, Alphacool uses only TPV hoses from the Enterprise Solution range for (usually reserved for servers and workstations) in the Eiswolf 2. The tubing is made of EPDM/PP and are extremely heat-resistant, durable, and free of plasticizers. All fittings are also based on the Enterprise Solution range and match the TPV hoses perfectly.ExpandabilityBy using the quick-release fastener, the Eiswolf 2 can be connected to another Alphacool AIO unit to achieve a larger loop in seconds. Alphacool offers various prefilled components with which the loop can be easily extended. For safety reasons, the quick-release fasteners are firmly screwed together and not just plugged together.Lighting and fansThe Eiswolf 2 cooler has a digital RGB LED lighting, also called addressable RGB LEDs. They run along the entire back of the graphics card cooler and provide complete illumination of the water cooler. The pump unit is more discreet and offers a green glowing logo for Nvidia and a red glowing logo for AMD cards. The name "Eiswolf" on the pump unit remains unlit, discreetly in the background. The fan used is the Aurora Rise with 120mm. Due to the special blade design, the fan is extremely quiet and the addressable RGB LEDs provide brilliant illumination. The Alphacool Aurora Rise fan convinces with a max. static pressure of 3.17mm/H2O and offers a max. air flow of 119.8m3/h. The PWM control allows the fan to be controlled over a wide speed range. In addition, it offers a zero control. It can therefore be regulated down to 0 rpm and then starts with approx. 350 rpm.NexXxoS RadiatorAs with all AIO units, Alphacool uses radiators from the world renowned NexXxoS series. The full copper radiators offer a much higher cooling capacity than aluminium radiators and have contributed significantly to Alphacool's worldwide success.The combination of all of the components results in a solution that is as simple as an AIO solution to install, but with the performance of a pre-assembled and prefilled custom loop.Technical note!Due to long storage times and various transport routes, the liquid in the Eiswolf 2 AIO remains still for a long time. The ingredients of the liquid can therefore deposit and lead to a brownish discoloration. As soon as the pump starts operating, the ingredients mix again and the liquid should regain an approximately clear color. This is not a reason for complaint as neither the performance nor the function of the AIO are restricted by this. The Alphacool Core reservoir combines performance with design. The tube of the reservoir is made of acrylic, the D5/VPP pump top and the lid of acetal. The combination of these two materials gives the expansion tank a discreet appearance. The wow effect is provided by 12 digitally addressable RGB LEDs in the pump top and the Lighttower water effect inside the acrylic tube. What's new? Compared to the previous Eisbecher models, the acrylic tube of the Core reservoir has an external thread. This provides more stability and safety when connecting the lid and pump top to the tube. Also new is the integrated digital aRGB lighting. 12 digitally addressable RGB LEDs in the pump top are included in the scope of delivery of the Core reservoir and no longer have to be purchased separately. Extensive mounting options Mounting option 1: Stands are included in the scope of delivery, which, among other things, allow the expansion tank to be mounted on the bottom of the enclosure. Mounting option 2: Included in the scope of delivery are 120mm/140mm mounting frames, which can be used to mount the Core expansion tank as desired on free fan spaces, radiators or on the fans on radiators.
