These are usually located on the front, side and bottom, whereas the rear and cover fans usually carry the air out of the housing and therefore need not be filtered. In order to maximize the filter effect, an overpressure in the housing can be generated. This means that more volume of air is forced into the housing than is being sucked out of the housing by other fans at the same time. This prevents air (and with it the dust) from entering the interior through other openings that may not have been filtered.
