Deep, intense colours as well as comfortable handling during installation and connection were our focus in developing these tubes. The result is tubing in a variety of sizes and colours, such as red, green, blue, or black. In developing these tubes, we specifically ensured that there would no longer be any need to deal with colour particles in the coolant fluid, but rather that all the colour would come from the tubing itself. Besides the colour, the installation and bending properties are of course very important in tubing. The ability to span a tight bend radius and comfortable handling in tricky spaces were also emphasised during development. This version of the water block features a nickel-plated copper cold plate with a high-grade glass-like top CNC machined out of cast acrylic. A CNC machined solid brass insert made it possible to significantly enlarge and optimize the cooling engine. Compared to previous generations of water blocks, the fin array has a 50% bigger surface area, all contained in a smaller footprint to ensure maximum compatibility even with mITX motherboards. The copper cold plate uses 0.40mm wide microchannels and 0.26mm thick microfins to maximize the thermal transfer with minimal flow restriction. Since EK-Quantum Magnitude was engineered from the ground up for each specific socket, the AM4 version features an offset insert that directs more flow over the AMD Ryzen CPU chiplets with the I/O die still getting plenty of flow to keep it cool. The aesthetic interchangeable inner frame is also machined out of a single piece of brass, which is subsequently nickel-plated. This pump is the first in the world to be used in mass-produced water-cooled workstations and is ideal for cooling processors and electronic components. Thanks to its compact size and power, it can be used for many applications. This DC pump features an electronically commutated ball motor with an estimated lifespan of over 50,000 hours at 12V. The only moving part in the pump is the spherically shaped rotor unit, which sits on an ultra-hard, wear-resistant ceramic bearing ball. Traditional shafts with bearings and seals are not used or needed. The spherical bearing of the rotor unit on the ceramic bearing ball offers several advantages: the development of bearing clearance is technically impossible, which ensures that the noise level will not increase over the pump's lifespan. The bearing is self-adjusting, which means the pump remains consistently quiet throughout its life. The pump is directly lubricated by the coolant (wet-running pump), so no maintenance is necessary. Since the rotor is magnetically held in place, even small dirt particles will not affect the mechanism, and the pump cannot be blocked under normal operating conditions. Reliable operation is guaranteed even after long periods of inactivity. The permanently magnetic rotor unit is driven frictionlessly by a magnetic field produced by the surrounding stator. The stator is built completely around the rotor, so the pump, at 38mm, is only slightly taller than the stator unit. This allows it to fit into almost any PC case—be it a super tower or a barebone. Separate magnetic shielding is usually unnecessary. The ball motor design allows for powerful yet energy-saving operation.
