The XPX cooler’s performance has gotten a major upgrade compared to its predecessor, the NexXxoS XP3. This was only possible because Alphacool completely re-developed the Eisblock XPX cooler from the ground up. For one, the fin structure was refined to 0.2mm and the fin count raised to 81 fins. This makes for a much larger cooling surface through which water can flow. In order to ensure the water is evenly distributed over the cooling fins, Alphacool developed and patented the “Ramp”. It ensures there is no turbulence in the water flow over cooling fins, which would lead to uneven water distribution over the cooling fins. Alphacool also used a double distributor to ensure less resistance. Paired with the ramp, this means the pump pressure plays little to no role in the performance of the cooler. You can turn the pump power down and run your system even more quietly without losing any cooling power. The bottom area of the XPX Eisblock has been optimized for CPUs with large DIE, as the cooling surface onto which the water actually flows was enlarged to 34 x 32mm, meaning even large 10 core CPUs present no problem. The bracket was also adjusted and simplified. This means new brackets for any socket type can be produced easily if required later. The aluminium frames also come in the same colours as the cooler itself. Alphacool has catered to users looking for customized design options, since the aluminium body which covers the entire cooler can be switched out for other models in different colours. Even the mounting kit can be colour-coordinated. For the illuminated Alphacool logo, alternative insets in different colours are available. This way, every user can build a cooler in whatever colour they desire while also owning one of – if not the – most high-performance CPU coolers on the current market. With the Alphacool XPX Aurora Pro Eisblock, Alphacool offers a CPU water cooler specially designed for processors with particularly large processor cores. These currently include the AMD Threadripper models and processors from Intel for the LGA 2066 socket and the LGA 3647 server socket in narrow ILM design. As a CPU cooler from the Aurora Design line, the CPU cooler naturally offers integrated digital aRGB lighting. Extremely powerful The cooler base has been specially optimized for the large processor cores. With an area of 42 x 58.6 mm and 147 cooling fins the cooling area has been significantly increased. As a comparison, an Alphacool XPX Aurora Eisblock has 81 cooling fins to completely cover the processor core of a normal CPU. Both coolers use the same fin type with a thickness of only 0.2 mm. This clearly shows how far Alphacool has gone to offer the best possible performance. The entire cooler base is of course made of nickel-plated copper and not aluminium. This is due to the increased thermal conductivity of copper. It is almost twice as high as that of aluminium. How is the CPU cooler illuminated? As with all new Eisblock CPU water coolers, Alphacool relies on an integrated aRGB solution. An aluminium frame is flush with the CPU cooler. Of course, the aluminium does not come into contact with the water. The LED frame contains up to 14 addressable digital RGB LEDs. This is more than enough to illuminate the entire cooler even and brightly. The intensity of the illumination can of course be controlled by an appropriate controller. Due to the use of digital RGB LEDs, all known effects can be created, because each LED can be controlled separately with the right controller. The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Pro cooler can also be connected and controlled via the 3-pin 5V connector on any compatible mainboard. The cable also has an integrated Y-adapter. This makes it easy to connect further Alphacool Aurora products in series without having to order separate Y-adapters. Only additional extension cables may be needed if you want to connect the products in series. Is the assembly difficult? Installation is child's play. Remove the protective film from the base of the cooler, apply some of the enclosed thermal paste to the CPU and then attach the cooler to the board. Depending on the base, the mounting screws are either screwed on before or after mounting. No tools are necessary for the assembly. Alphacool uses knurled screws, which allow a quick and easy assembly. Finally Acryl! The Alphacool Eisblock XPX Aurora Pro is the technical brother of the Eisblock XPX Pro 1U cooler, which was developed especially for the use in server housings. During the development the functionality had a much higher priority than the design, which was kept practical and discreet. The Eisblock XPX Aurora Pro has been optically adapted to the Aurora products and now offers the same design features as you are used to from the Aurora series. The new Eiszapfen PRO hard tube fittings from Alphacool are the next step in development for the familiar Eiszapfen fittings. In the development of the fittings Alphacool concentrated on a specific problem, deforming PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. PETG can start to deform at 60°C. Although such a temperature is usually rarely reached, it can still occur. The Eiszapfen PRO fittings prevent this problem from the outset and hold the tubes in position. The deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts inside and stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, the fitting still has an O-ring and a compression seal. However, the contact area is much larger than with normal O-rings, which provides a better grip. With the insert and the compression seal, the tube is strengthened from the inside and outside. Even under heavy loads the HardTube does not slip. Alphacool has tested the tensile strength of up to over 8kg, so there is no need to worry about loose tubing. Alphacool’s new quick connectors, called the “Eiszapfen” (icicle), are the newest addition to the “Eis” series. High quality and impressive features take every water cooling system a step forward in quality and practicality! A quick-release connector can be used anywhere where expandability, flexibility, or cleanliness play a big role. The compact connectors have a 1/4” thread on both sides, making them compatible with all standard components. The connectors can be separated by pulling down the outer rings. Both sides immediately shut completely, so that no water can leak out. The special N.D.S.L. technology (no drip, no splash, no leak) ensures no water drips, splashes or leaks out while opening the connectors. When the pieces are reconnected, both sides audibly click together and are locked tightly with a double o-ring, which is simply pressed together when reconnecting. This also prevents any deterioration of the o-ring. The mechanism was also designed for longevity, to ensure a secure connections even after several years. Many quick connectors tend to compromise the flow rate. But Alphacool has found a way to solve this problem. These quick connectors can still sustain a high flow rate!
