Or maybe you have the 250mm version and would like to fit another radiator into the case but you notice the reservoir is too big, or you simply want to switch to the 150mm version. No problem! Simply remove the scratched or too-big plexi tube and screw in the new one. Done! You can simply continue using the pump socket and cap. The expansion tanks in the ULTITUBE series are equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass, which, in contrast to the Plexiglas often used for tube expansion tanks, has a very high level of hardness and scratch resistance, very low thermal expansion and excellent chemical and thermal resistance. The glass tube has an outer diameter of 65 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. Both ends of the glass tube are firmly connected to metal rings made of black anodized aluminum, which do not come into contact with the cooling medium. The base and lid of the ULTITUBE series are made of durable acetal and are screwed to the glass tube. This means that a large opening is available for filling the expansion tank after unscrewing the lid. A filter element made of a fine stainless steel wire mesh is integrated into the bottom of the container, which not only functions as a particle filter but also separates air bubbles. The filter element is integrated into a rubber molded part and can be rinsed out under running water, for example. The seal in the upper area of the glass tube is also designed as a rubber molded part for easy assembly and is therefore securely positioned when the lid is screwed on.
