IronKey Vault Privacy 50 Series FIPS 197 certified USB flash drive with XTS-AES 256-bit encryption for data protection Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 is a premium USB, Type-A and Type-C1 flash drive that offers business-grade security with AES 256-bit FIPS 197 certified hardware encryption in XTS mode and includes protection against BadUSB with digitally signed firmware and against brute force password cracking attacks. Because it is an encrypted record under the physical control of the user, the VP50 series has an advantage over using the Internet and cloud services to protect data. Vault Privacy 50 supports the option of multiple passwords (administrator, user, and one-time recovery) in complex password or passphrase mode. This increases the chances of regaining access to data if one of the passwords is forgotten. Traditional Composite Password mode allows you to enter a 616-character password using 3 of 4 types of characters. The new Passphrase mode allows you to enter a PIN, a sentence, a list of words, and even song lyrics from 10 to 64 characters long. The administrator can activate the user and one-time recovery password or reset the user's password to restore access to the data. To make typing your password easier, you can turn on the eye symbol to make your password visible, reducing the chance of typos that result in failed login attempts. To protect against malware infection when working on untrusted systems, the administrator and user can set read-only mode to protect the drive from writing, and the built-in virtual keyboard protects passwords from keyloggers or screenloggers. The memory is FIPS 197 certified and Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant, and organizations can use Kingston's personalization program to personalize and configure the VP50 series using a product ID (PID) to integrate with standard point management software endpoints to meet corporate IT and cybersecurity requirements. SMBs can use the administrator role to manage drives locally, such as setting up or resetting user passwords or one-time recovery passwords for employees, recovering access to data on locked drives, and complying with laws and regulations in the event of an investigation.
