The D500S is the first on the market to offer dual hidden partition functionality, which allows the administrator to create two secure, custom-sized partitions for the administrator and user. The resulting hidden file store can be used to share files on the user's partition if necessary. The virtual English keyboard function is also useful, as it protects passwords from software that records keystrokes (keylogger) or screen content (screenlogger). The D500S memory also supports two levels of read-only (write-protect) modes. Both the administrator and the user can set the session to read-only mode to protect memory from malware on unknown systems. The administrator can also enable general read-only mode, which will remain active until the memory is reset. In addition to security, it also ensures high data reading speed. The memory has a unique 8-digit serial number stored in the device, engraved on the housing and available as a barcode that can be scanned for registration or audit purposes.
