The CATX Displayport Computer Access Modules are highly compact devices that allow you to extend your DisplayPort equipped computer over CATX cable up to 300 meters. TheCAM connects to the DisplayPort video connector plus USB and Audio ports on your computer and then connects via CAT 5, 5e or 6 cabling to the AdderView CATx KVM switches and/or Adder extender receivers (either AdderLink X100 or X200), each of which can be located up to 300 meters from the module. Your video display, keyboard, mice and speakers arethen all linked to the remote device. Power The CATX DisplayPort CAM uses the USB port to derive its power from the host computer, dispensing with the need for a separate power supply and thus simplifying installation. Therefore the USB cable must always be connected to a USB port on the computer that is capable of providing up to 500mA. Power is not taken from the DisplayPort connector Mini DisplayPort version available Some computers, servers and graphics cards (Apple Mac Pro and ATI Radion graphics cards) come with mini DisplayPort connectors as these are smaller than the standard connector. A version of the CAM is available with Mini DisplayPort connectors. EDID display information The module will check during power up the EDID information available from the KVM switch or extender that is connected to the monitor and passes this back to the computer. USB The CAM supports low speed (1Mb/s) HID USB devices only. Audio 2 channel CD Quality audio is supported via a 3.5mm jack plug. Audio is not available through the display port connector.

Multi-Monitor Free-Flow The system is able to support up to Eight monitors per computer. To enable Free-Flow on multi-monitor computers, a driver must be installed on the target computer. External control options The unit can be controlled and switched via hotkeys, mouse clicks, Ethernet, RS232 or remote 3 button mouse. With the open API, the unit can be easily set up and integrated into 3rd party systems. Instant switching with True USB Emulation Adder’s True USB Emulation technology overcomes limitations of other KVM switches by emulating the true character of the connected devices to all the computers simultaneously. This means that you can use the extra function keys, wheels, buttons and controls, without sacrificing switching times. Independent simultaneous device selection Switching options enable you to use the keyboard and mouse on one computer whilst your USB peripherals and speakers are independently connected to different computers. You can of course still switch all the connected devices to any one of the connected computers. Screen illumination module The CCS-XB illumination module is an optional accessory which connects to the CCS-PRO4. It gives users the option to have a LED indicator positioned on each screen to identify which screen is currently controlling. The color and intensity can be controlled for each screen. A maximum of ten LED indicators can be supported. Redundant power For mission critical applications, dual power inlets are now available.

Access permissions Each user station can be granted different access permissions on a per computer basis. Once computer access is permitted, administrators can select which levels of control will be available, allowing users to choose between View only, Shared, Exclusive or Private connection modes. Exclusive and private connection modes The DDX30 enables users to work safely and securely with a choice of connection modes. In Exclusive mode, users have full KVM control while being able to share video content with other colleagues. By connecting in Private mode, users can work in privacy. Multi-head video support DDX30 transmitters & receivers can be grouped to form ‘Computers’ and ‘Consoles’ that support dual-head & quad-head connectivity. ‘Zero U’ Computer Access Modules (CAMs) Powered by USB, the digital computer access modules sit in-line and are ideal for racks with limited space. Secure web control interface System administrators can securely access the DDX30 management tools to configure system settings, set access privileges and control video connections. Modules are available in DVI, VGA and DisplayPort options. ADDER 460W POWER MODULE FOR THE RED PSU MODELS The Adder 460W redundant power supply used (RED PSU) with Hot swappable modules. Conversion from the mains AC supply to low voltage DC occurs within either one, or two switched mode 460W power modules, which slot into the rear of the RED PSU chassis. A single power module is rated at 500,000 hours MTBF and this can easily meet the needs of sixteen ports. However, in situations where redundancy is required, a second power module can be included in the second module bay. With two power modules fitted, the normal load will be intelligently balanced between them on an equal basis; with full load transferring immediately to one should the other cease operation

Adder devices that require a 5VDC supply require the use of a Converter dongle to form the link between the RED-PSU port and the device, while also transforming the voltage level. Each converter dongle has two leads: a 2.5mm power jack and a locking Kycon® 3-pin plug. Each converter dongle must be placed in close proximity to the device - to assist with mounting dongles in congested spaces, an optional elongated rack bracket (RMK4D-R2) is available for AdderLink Infinity units that allows each dongle to be positioned just behind the device that it is powering.
