Remote serial I/O products offer process engineers the benefit of simple wiring, as they only require two wires to communicate with the controller and other RS-485 devices while adopting the EIA/TIA RS-485 communication protocol to transmit and receive data at high speed over long distances. Easy-to-Use Software Interface for Easy Maintenance With Moxa’s easy-to-use ioSearch software, you can quickly access all of an ioLogik R1200 device’s status information and settings with a user-friendly graphical user interface. Furthermore, ioSearch also provides an easy method for updating firmware for all ioLogik R1200 devices over an RS-485 network, so you can even update your firmware remotely. The free and easy-to-use ioSearch software reduces the maintenance time and labor required to set up your communication interface. When more than one ioLogik R1200 are on the same RS-485 network, you no longer need to turn hundreds of dials during setup. Instead, simply configure and duplicate each ioLogik R1200’s baudrate and mode through the graphical user interface. This convenient software feature reduces maintenance engineers' effort, and greatly simplifies upgrading your device's configuration compared with more traditional methods. Innovative Hardware Design Reduces Deployment Effort and Enhances Maintenance Efficiency With the industry’s first RS-485 serial remote I/O with USB design, Moxa provides an innovative solution for upgrading and configuring RS-485 remote I/O communication devices and firmware. All you need to do is upload the configurations to a USB drive, plug it into the field device, and all the configurations and firmware updates will upload to the field device automatically. Cost-Saving Hardware Design for Backup and Redundancy Moxa’s ioLogik R1200 Series provides dual RS-485 ports so that when one of your RS-485 ports is damaged, you can quickly switch to the other RS-485 port for quick testing or repair. RS-485 remote I/O devices are already considered a low-cost technology, but with dual RS-485 ports, Moxa helps you save a little bit more. With the ioLogik R1200, you can take advantage of our dual RS-485 ports to set up wiring, provide computer redundancy, or back up your network using two computer topologies. For wiring redundancy, when your computer detects that one of the RS-485 connections is not responding, it can quickly switch over to the other RS-485 line to guarantee continuous communication between field sensors and the central computer. Furthermore, users have the freedom to define the settings. For computer redundancy, the ioLogik R1200 provides system operators with a secure backup when one system goes down.

All models are protected with a rugged metallic casing, DIN-rail mountable, and offer optional built-in optical isolation. The PROFIBUS and Ethernet status LED indicators are provided for easy maintenance. The rugged design is suitable for industrial applications such as oil/gas, power, process automation, and factory automation. Windows Utility for Easy Configuration and Traffic Monitoring The MGate Manager utility provides a user-friendly interface to make configuration and operation as easy as possible. Moxa’s innovative AutoScan function can automatically detect all connected PROFIBUS slave devices and their available I/O modules to quickly complete gateway configuration, after which an easy-to-read data mapping table is created to assist in the configuration of Modbus TCP master (e.g., SCADA, PLC) settings. In addition, users can configure import/export maintenance functions, and use embedded monitoring tools to maintain logs of Modbus communication packets, which can be used for troubleshooting. A Variety of Maintenance Functions The MGate 5101-PBM-MN provides a Web console and Telnet console for remote maintenance, with both consoles supporting encryption commutation functions such as HTTPS and SSH for preventing unauthorized access. The log functions are provided in firmware such as connection event of Modbus or PROFIBUS for maintenance. Users can monitor each I/O data and review the log through the web console remotely. A relay output alarm is provided for the power input status. It gives maintenance engineers an additional tool for troubleshooting and maintenance. Redundant Power Inputs The MGate 5101-PBM-MN has dual power inputs for greater reliability. The power inputs allow simultaneous connection to 2 live DC power sources to provide uninterrupted operation even if one power source fails. The higher level of reliability makes these advanced PROFIBUS-master-to-Modbus-TCP gateways ideal for demanding industrial applications.

The NPort® 6000 is a terminal server that uses the SSL and SSH protocols to transmit encrypted serial data over Ethernet. Up to 32 serial devices of any type can be connected to the NPort® 6000, using the same IP address. The Ethernet port can be configured for a normal or secure TCP/IP connection. The NPort® 6000 secure device servers are the right choice for applications that use large numbers of serial devices packed into a small space. Security breaches are intolerable and the NPort® 6000 Series ensures data transmission integrity with support for DES, 3DES, and AES encryption algorithms. Serial devices of any type can be connected to the NPort® 6000, and each serial port on the NPort® 6000 can be configured independently for RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 transmission. No Data Loss If Ethernet Connection Fails The NPort® 6000 is a reliable device server that provides users with secure serial-to-Ethernet data transmission and a customer-oriented hardware design. If the Ethernet connection fails, the NPort® 6000 will queue all serial data in its internal 64 KB port buffer. When the Ethernet connection is re-established, the NPort® 6000 will immediately release all data in the buffer in the order that it was received. Users can increase the port buffer size by installing an SD card. LCD Panel Makes Configuration Easy The NPort® 6600 has a built-in LCD panel for configuration. The panel displays the server name, serial number, and IP address, and any of the device server’s configuration parameters, such as IP address, netmask, and gateway address, can be updated easily and quickly. Note: The LCD panel is only available with standard-temperature models. Adjustable Resistor Values for RS-485 Communication The NPort® 6600 provides adjustable termination, pull high, and pull low resistors for RS-485 communication. In some critical environments, termination resistors may be needed to prevent the reflection of serial signals, and the pull high and pull low resistors may need adjusting to maintain the integrity of the electrical signal. Since no set of resistor values works for every environment, the NPort® 6600 allows manual adjustment of the resistor values for each serial port using built-in DIP switches.
