Autentimise võimaluste hulka kuuluvad WPA3, X.509 sertifikaadid, TACACS+ ja RADIUS. Ruuter toetab laia valikut VPN-tehnoloogiaid, nagu OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, ZeroTier ja GRE-tunnelid, võimaldades turvalist kaugjuurdepääsu ja krüpteeritud suhtlust. Lisafunktsioonid, nagu hotspot-funktsionaalsus koos captive portaliga, DNS üle HTTPS ja koormuse tasakaalustamine, suurendavad veelgi võrgu paindlikkust ja turvalisust. Riistvara ja haldus RUTM16 töötab 880 MHz kiirusel töötava MediaTek kahetuumalise protsessoriga, millele on lisatud 256 MB DDR3-mälu ja kaks välkmäluseadet (16 MB NOR ja 256 MB NAND), mis tagavad stabiilse jõudluse mitme ülesande samaaegsel täitmisel ja andmemahukate rakenduste kasutamisel. Toide tagatakse 4-pinilise tööstusliku pistikühenduse kaudu (9–50 VDC), millel on ülepingekaitse ja vastupidine polaarsuskaitse, samuti passiivse PoE kaudu LAN1-liidese kaudu. Energiatarbimine on tõhus: ooterežiimis alla 5 W ja maksimaalse koormuse korral alla 18 W. Kaugjuhtimine on võimalik RMS-i (Teltonika Remote Management System) kaudu, lisaks toetatakse TR-069, SNMP, MQTT ja JSON-RPC protokolle.
