Einfach den Eingang des Splitters an einen PoE Switch oder PoE Injector anschließen und die Ausgangsseite an ein Nicht-PoE-Netzwerkgerät wie z.B. einen Access Point, IP-Telefon oder eine Kamera, um Strom und Daten bereitzustellen. Der Extender selbst wird über PoE mit Strom versorgt, so dass keine zusätzliche Stromversorgung erforderlich ist. Die Ausgangsspannung kann über einen Dip-Schalter auf 12V oder 24V geregelt werden. So erweitert dieser Splitter das Netzwerk dort, wo Netzwerkgeräte platziert werden sollen, für die keine Steckdosen verfügbar sind.
