UV filter näeb välja nagu õhukene toonita klaas, mis on paigutatud keermestatud filtriraami. Sagedase puhastamisega me võime lõpuks rikkuda objektiiv vääristuse. Piisab läätsele sattunud liivast pärineva imepisikesest kvartsi kristallist ning lapiga puhastades tõmbamegi objektiivile esimese kraapsu. UV filter on piisavalt odav vahend objektiivi kaitsmiseks. Tolmu, näpujälgede puhastamine filtriklaasilt on tunduvalt ohutum tegevus, pealegi kui ka peaks juhtuma mingi äpardus, siis filter maksab enamasti murdosa objektiivi väärtusest ning suurem kahju jääb tekkimata. Nikoni kõrge kvaliteediga filtrid ei muuda objektiivi valgusjõudu, ei põhjusta kromaatilist aberratsiooni ega hägusta pilti. Soovitame filtri soetada kohe koos objektiiviga.
