Neutraalhallid filtrid on loodud selleks, et vähendada kaamerasse jõudva valguse kogust, samal ajal värve muutmata. Valguse koguse vähendamise tulemusel on võimalik kasutada suuremat ava, pikemat säriaega või mõlemat samaaegselt. See on vajalik subjekti rõhutamiseks teravussügavuse kontrolliga või liikumisefekti loomiseks. Sellise lahendusega on ühes filtris olema ND3 - ND400 neutraalhall filter, mis lihtsustab fotograafilist ning videograafilist tööd.

UV filter näeb välja nagu õhukene toonita klaas, mis on paigutatud keermestatud filtriraami. Tegelikult on kvaliteetsed UV filtrid kaetud mitmekihiliste vääristustega ning mõeldud kaamera objektiivi ette selleks, et vähendada ultraviolett valguskiirguse pääsemist kaamerasse. Enamasti on selle filtri kasutamisel ka palju pragmaatilisem eesmärk – kaitsta objektiivi. Pildistamise käigus võib tekkida palju olukordi, kus objektiivile võib sattuda pritsmeid, tolmu ja mõni juhuslik näpujälg. Fotograafid teavad, et objektiivi esimese läätse puhtus mõjutab pildi tehnilist kvaliteeti ning seepärast kantakse hoolt, et objektiiv oleks puhas. Sagedase puhastamisega me võime lõpuks rikkuda objektiiv vääristuse. Piisab läätsele sattunud liivast pärineva imepisikesest kvartsi kristallist ning lapiga puhastades tõmbamegi objektiivile esimese kraapsu. UV filter on piisavalt odav vahend objektiivi kaitsmiseks. Tolmu, näpujälgede puhastamine filtriklaasilt on tunduvalt ohutum tegevus, pealegi kui ka peaks juhtuma mingi äpardus, siis filter maksab enamasti murdosa objektiivi väärtusest ning suurem kahju jääb tekkimata. Nikoni kõrge kvaliteediga filtrid ei muuda objektiivi valgusjõudu, ei põhjusta kromaatilist aberratsiooni ega hägusta pilti. Soovitame filtri soetada kohe koos objektiiviga. Filtri mõõdu saate teada objektiivilt või objektiivi esikorgi siseküljelt.
