Neutral density (ND) filters are the most demanded and essential type of photographic filters because of several reasons. For photographers ND filters mean precise control of the amount of light passing through the lens for greater creative control over exposure. For video content creators ND filters help immensely to set shutter speeds to match the frame-rate while maintaining the depth-of-field of the footage.HD MK II IRND64 for blurring objects and visualizin motionThe HD Mk II IRND64 is perfect for performing motion control or blurring objects and is therefore used to render movement of moving objects such as water flow, wave motion or moving people. Without an ND filter and with standard camera settings the movement would appear "still" on the final image. A flowing effect can be achieved through reducing the aperture to f/16 or f/22, but this may cause diffraction that makes the resolution and overall depiction poor. Also, when shooting with fast prime lenses and cameras that have ISO200 as their lowest sensitivity, it might not be possible to reduce the exposure enough to achieve a shutter speed that causes the "water flowing" effect. However, by using the HD Mk II IRND64 filter, it is possible to shoot at a proper f/ value to avoid "diffraction", and it is possible to lower the exposure to a necessary shutter speed value that can express the movement as "flowing".IRND technology for even light reduction throughout the visible light spectrumHOYA applies its signature ACCU-ND technology to the HD Mk II IRND series, guaranteeing an even light reduction throughout the visible light spectrum and up into the higher IR spectrum. This means that there is no leak from the infrared band of the light spectrum, guaranteeing that the image does not undergo any negative affect from color shifts.ACCU-ND is a benchmark for IR ND technology and makes the HOYA HD Mk II IRND series a market leader for high quality ND filters.Digital water- and oil repellent anti-reflection multi-coatingThe HD MK II IRND series applies an anti-reflection multi-coating that reduces the chance of any reflections caused by the filter. The coating also comes with water- and oil repellent features which makes cleaning the filter easy and stress free.HD low-profile frameThe HD Mk II IRND series uses an ultra-thin lightweight, precisely crafted aluminum frame, reducing the chance of vignetting immensely when using the filter with wide-angle lenses. It is also very useful when stacking filters, which can be done thanks to the integrated front filter thread.

The HOYA HD Mk II IRND FILTER KIT includes the three premium IRND filters HD Mk II IRND 8, 64 and 1000. As these densities allow photographers to create all possible effects of ND filters, such as motion blur, flowing effect and greater creative control over exposure, it is the perfect all-around kit that contains all essential and most popular ND filters for photography. That makes the kit perfect for both amateur and professional photographers who want to fully make use of ND filters in all kinds of situations just as much as those who are not sure which ND filter is best for their vision and hence want to try out several densities. Includes HD Mk II IRND 8, 64 and 1000 filters and carry pouch that can hold up to four round-type filters. ACCU-ND technology for an even light reduction throughout the visible and IR light spectrum to avoid any unintended color shifts due to IR pollution. Anti-reflection multi-coating. Water- and oil repellent properties for easy and stress-free cleaning. Low-profile lightweight aluminum frame for minimum chance of vignetting. HD MK II IRND8 for creating a beautiful blurred backgroundThe HD Mk II IRND8 is the perfect density for creating a beautiful blurred background in portrait or typical daylight conditions that is easily obtained with f/1.2 or f/1.4 fast prime lenses at maximum aperture but that requires a high shutter speed. As some cameras come with a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. that would cause over-exposure with such fast lenses, the photographer can still achieve an appropriate exposure by controlling the shutter speed though using the HD Mk II IRND8 filter.HD MK II IRND64 for blurring objects and visualizin motionThe HD Mk II IRND64 is perfect for performing motion control or blurring objects and is therefore used to render movement of moving objects such as water flow, wave motion or moving people. The graduated ND10 balances exposure between the lightest and darkest areas of a scene allowing better tone and detail to be recorded in these areas of the image. The Hoya graduated ND10 10 is darker at the top giving that area a 3-stop light reduction and then fading evenly to a 1 stop light reduction at the bottom. This creates more balanced exposure between the lighter and darker areas of a scene, especially useful for photos that include the sky. The aluminum filter frame rotates so the darkest area can be positioned as needed. The Hoya graduated ND10 10 filter uses a Hoya super clear optical glass in a wedge layer that is matched and perfectly bonded to a ND filter glass wedge layer to create the gradual ND effect. Neutral density filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering your camera lens and do not have any other effect on the image. Reducing the amount of light allows for the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic affect in bright lighting conditions.
