Get up close to the action with UpClose G2 binoculars. Pack these high-power binoculars along for sporting events, vacations, hikes, or outdoor adventures to observe birds and wildlife. The UpClose G2 16x32 will be your grab-and-go binocular of choice. Coatings and Prisms Inside the UpClose G2 are two roof prisms, each paired with an auxiliary prism. Roof prisms create a straight line between the eyepiece and objective lens, making the binocular more compact—perfect for stashing in a jacket pocket or purse. Our roof prisms are constructed of BK-7 optical glass, which provides high reflectivity so that more light passes through the optical path to your eye. UpClose G2 also contains other optical surfaces treated with special coatings to boost light transmission even more. The result is a brighter view than uncoated binoculars. The Body Whether you are out on the trail or inside a crowded stadium, you want a binocular that is comfortable to hold and use over long periods, without fear of bumps or drops. UpClose G2 features a lightweight and durable armor-protected chassis. Its tough, rigid frame is coated with rubber to stand up to hard use in the field. The UpClose G2 is also water resistant and can repeatedly stand up to unexpected conditions. Viewing through UpClose G2 is comfortable for eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers alike, thanks to its rubber eyecups. Keep the eyecups up for proper positioning of the eyes without glasses. If you are wearing glasses, simply fold them down and out of the way. Perfect for a Variety of Uses UpClose G2 features 16x magnification, a major boost in power for sporting events, sightseeing, birding, wildlife or whale watching, and more! The midsize 32mm objective lenses bring in more light than our compact models while remaining lightweight and easy to hold. No matter how you choose to observe, this binocular is a solid performer. Accessories Included UpClose G2 includes a built-in neck strap for easy carrying. This contrast-enhancing anodized aluminum, optical glass filter is designed to block out the wavelengths of light emitted by mercury-vapor light and other common causes of light pollution, whilst providing higher transmission at critical hydrogen-alpha and hydrogen-beta lines than competing filters. Bright, light-polluted skies appear much darker, and the contrast between object and sky is improved significantly. This contrast-enhancement effect is particularly apparent on nebulae. Unlike stars, emission nebulae give off the light in a very narrow range of wavelengths. This filter allows maximum transmission of the important wavelengths of H-alpha, H-beta and doubly ionized oxygen – the ones most commonly emitted by nebulae. Views of galaxies and star clusters are also enhanced but to a lesser degree. Also improves contrast on reddish planetary detail. Works well in telescopes of all apertures but is highly recommended for use on smaller telescopes up to 114mm diameter, where conventional filters swallow up too much light. Supplied with storage case.

The Omegon 2x Barlow lens trebles the magnification when used together with an eyepiece. The 1.25" eyepiece is simply inserted into the Barlow lens and secured with the side locking screw. You then insert the complete assembly into the focuser. For example, if you normally get 20 x magnification with your eyepiece, this is then increased to 60 x with the Omegon Barlow lens. If you want to initially do without having to acquire a complete set of eyepieces, then this Barlow lens fits the bill.
Variable polarizing filter 1.25’’Allows for selective adjustment of brightness which is useful for terrestrial observation and objects of the Solar System. You often find considerable differences in detail brightness on objects of the Solar System. This is particularly noticeable when observing:- Moon craters which are close to the lunar terminator- Sun spots and faculae. Caution: only to be used in association with an appropriate solar filter on the front of your telescope!- Details on planetsIrradiation from brighter regions prevents you from distinguishing fine details. Variable polarizing filters allow you to selectively adjust the level of darkening.Light transmission:Light transmission of polarizing filters is between 1% and 40%. These filters have a very large range of effectiveness.Handling:Variable polarizing filters are made up of two individual filters. The variable darkening effect is produced by rotating the lower filter relative to the upper one.

Did you know that most telescopes work well for daytime viewing as well as for astronomy? If you have a refractor or a catadioptric telescope (the Schmidt-Cassegrain is the most popular example), and you would like to use it for terrestrial observations, the most useful additional accessory you can buy is an erect-image diagonal. If you look through your telescope with the standard mirror or star diagonal installed, you will notice that objects may be either upside down, flipped so that you see a mirror image or a combination of the two. This is fine for observations of celestial objects, but it can be a little confusing when you are trying to track a boat as it moves through the water, or an eagle as he flies towards his perch.Luckily, this is an easy problem to correct. Simply remove the standard diagonal from the telescope’s focuser or visual back, and install the Celestron 45º Erect Image Diagonal. Now, when you insert an eyepiece, objects will be right side up and left-to-right correct. The 45º angle of this Amici prism diagonal is very comfortable for daytime observations, where the telescope is often in a horizontal position. Please Note: Adding an erect-image diagonal to a Newtonian reflector will not result in images that are right side up and left-to-right correct. The optical design of a Newtonian will always produce images that are rotationally off in orientation. This does not mean that you can’t use a Newtonian reflector during the day, it just means that you have to get used to objects oriented in unrealistic positions.
This 1.25” accessory can be used three ways: as a 2X Barlow for visual use, as a prime focus T-adapter, or as a “Barlowed” T-adapter for double the magnification and the benefit of extra inward focus travel. The Universal Barlow & T-Adapter can be used as a 2X Barlow right out of the box. Insert any 1.25” eyepiece into the chamber and you’ll enjoy double the magnification while retaining all the eye relief of the inserted eyepiece. The Celestron Universal Barlow & T-Adapter can also be used for prime focus photography, which means you use the telescope as a photographic lens—a very big photographic lens! Just unscrew the bottom section of the unit to remove the Barlow and slide the chrome barrel into the telescope’s 1.25” focuser or adapter. Lock it firmly in place with the focuser or adapter thumbscrew. T-threads on the top of the adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) that is designed to attach to the brand-specific mounting flange of your DSLR or SLR camera.
A good Plössl eyepiece outperforms a simple Kellner. Through bulk purchase, we can offer this type of eyepiece at a price for which you would get only more simple eyepieces elsewhere. Nevertheless, the features are quite impressive. The 40 mm Plössl offers maximum field of view with 1.25" and is a fine overview eyepiece. With its long focal length of 40 mm, it is especially suited for slow telescopes like Cassegrains or refractors not faster than f/8. The image stays still bright, making the eyepiece well siuted for observing nebulae, open star clusters and galaxies, but also for centering of objects. Areas of application of Plössl eyepieces: Through the four-element design, the Plössl is a true all-rouder. It does not introduce an additional chromatic aberration to the system, in opposite to more simple eyepieces with fewer elements. As a consequence, these eyepieces can be very well used for observing moon and planets with higher magnifications. At lower magnifications, Plössl eyepieces are well suited for observing nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, they convince with a field of view relatively free of distortion.Astrophotographers can also work well with Plössl eyepieces, as they are well suited for eyepiece projection. The MgF2 coating prevents disturbing reflections and provide good contrast. However, many projection adapters are too narrow for the Plössl eyepieces with 32 or 40 mm focal length.
The 12.5mm medium power Omni eyepiece is a 4 -element premium symmetrical Plössl optical design. Features include blackened lens edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize contrast, multi-layer coating group on each lens surface to maximize light transmission and contrast, and each Omni goes through a two-step anodizing process to prevent reflection from the top eyepiece barrel, unlike most other manufactures who use reflective surfaces. Threaded barrels accept 1-1/4” Celestron thread-in filters.
