Dust, fungus, humidity and cleaning solutions cannot harm the precious eyepiece for years of observing to come!
With the introduction of the 68° Series we are pleased to make two important improvements in eyepiece manufacture, the first being 15 layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD™) coatings on all glass-to-air surfaces to gain maximum contrast and waterproofing the eyepiece with the use of Argon gas purging instead of standard Nitrogen gas. Although Nitrogen is a fine choice that will last for many years, Argon is a larger molecule that maintains its protective properties over a wider range of temperatures and is even more resistant to diffusion thereby further extending the protective waterproof environment of the eyepiece body.Through computer-optimized design, a careful selection of optical glasses, and enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings, the Explore Scientific 68° Series™ eyepieces produce long eye-relief and ensure high image-correction, a flat field, and high contrast across the entire image field. An excellent choice for those who make extended visual studies of detail with subtle variations of brightness, and for those who must wear glasses while observing. All 68° Series eyepieces are fully EMD (Enhanced Multi-Layer Deposition) coated and edge-blackened to produce superior contrast.

Did you know that most telescopes work well for daytime viewing as well as for astronomy? If you have a refractor or a catadioptric telescope (the Schmidt-Cassegrain is the most popular example), and you would like to use it for terrestrial observations, the most useful additional accessory you can buy is an erect-image diagonal. If you look through your telescope with the standard mirror or star diagonal installed, you will notice that objects may be either upside down, flipped so that you see a mirror image or a combination of the two. This is fine for observations of celestial objects, but it can be a little confusing when you are trying to track a boat as it moves through the water, or an eagle as he flies towards his perch.Luckily, this is an easy problem to correct. Simply remove the standard diagonal from the telescope’s focuser or visual back, and install the Celestron 45º Erect Image Diagonal. Now, when you insert an eyepiece, objects will be right side up and left-to-right correct. The 45º angle of this Amici prism diagonal is very comfortable for daytime observations, where the telescope is often in a horizontal position. Please Note: Adding an erect-image diagonal to a Newtonian reflector will not result in images that are right side up and left-to-right correct. The optical design of a Newtonian will always produce images that are rotationally off in orientation. This does not mean that you can’t use a Newtonian reflector during the day, it just means that you have to get used to objects oriented in unrealistic positions.

Give someone a real piece of Mars - surprise acquaintances, friends and relatives on special occasions such as Christmas or birthdays. You have the opportunity here of acquiring a genuine piece of Mars rock NWA 6963. This rock was detached from Mars by a meteoritic impact and hit the earth (here NWA _North-western Africa) Worldwide, there are approximately 100kg of Mars meteorite material and only a small fraction of it ever becomes commercially available. There is only 282.3g from NWA 6963! The contrast between its more brightly colored weathered outer layer, with its pure reddish Olivine, and its dark green interior accounts for the beauty of the rock. This property makes the meteorites not only visually beautiful but also of scientific interest, as it demonstrates the weathering of the surface of the Red Planet. Overall, very interesting and visually appealing, the new Martian meteorite is of a rare type. A real 'must-have' for every meteorite collector who wants to be proud of their collection.

Each eyepiece features a four-element design with a 52º apparent field of view. The optics are fully multi-coated to improve light transmission and protect the optics. The 32 mm Plossl eyepiece offers a low power, wide field view in most telescopes, the 13 mm & 17 mm focal lengths are good medium-power oculars, and the 8 mm & 6 mm eyepieces provide high magnifications, great for the Moon and planets, especially when seeing conditions are good.2X Barlow Lens - The included, and very versatile 2X Barlow doubles the magnification of any 1.25” eyepiece. Since this kit includes five (5) eyepieces, you will be able to use them with and without the Barlow, giving you a total of ten magnification options in all. Any other 1.25” eyepieces you already have will also work in this desirable accessory, giving you even more magnification choices. Remember, high magnifications do not always produce clear, sharp results, especially on evenings of poor or moderate seeing conditions. Experiment to find the magnifications that are best for your telescope on a particular night.Filters - Colored filters can be used to bring out certain details on a planet’s surface or its cloud structure. All of the planetary filters included in the 1.25” Eyepiece & Accessory Kit, as well as the Moon filter, can be used on any 1.25” eyepiece with the proper filter threads, so they are very versatile. Just screw one onto your eyepiece of choice and slide it into the focuser. The Moon filter is one of the first accessories most new amateur astronomers buy and for good reason! It helps block out a portion of the light the Moon sends into your eyepiece so that you can see details better. You can also try this filter on Venus; it blocks enough glare so you can observe the planet’s phases more easily.Metal Case - The sturdy metal carry case has die-cut foam inside to protect and cushion your accessories. Store each one in its appointed place when not in use and you’ll keep them looking and performing like new. The case is even large enough to carry a few extra accessories. Just pull out enough of the foam cubes to make a nest for your eyepiece, camera adapter, etc. A tight fit is better, so remove the least amount of foam possible before testing the fit. You can always remove more if you need to.

Focal Reducer, 0.5X, for Observing and Imaging:This focal reducer lowers the focal length of the main optics by half, providing a larger field of view. This is advantageous when using cameras with small chips for imaging. Use: Using the focal reducer is ingeniously simple. It has a 1.25" filter thread, which fits into any 1.25" eyepiece or 1.25" camera adapter without any problem. Imaging: The focal reducer increases the size of the image field and shortens the exposure times when imaging. It is particularly recommended for use with the Philips SPC 900NC Webcam, etc. Visual observing:The increase of the size of the field of view with 1.25" eyepieces is particular useful if you like observing more extended celestial objects with long focal length instruments. The smaller focal reducer/eyepiece distance means that the reduction factor is only 0.5X. However, the focus is only shifted inwards by 5mm. Technical Data:Connecting thread: Filter thread 1.25" (M 28.5 x 0.75) on both sides Free light transmission: Lens aperture 22.5mm Lenses: 2 lenses for better correction - cemented - coated Material: Aluminium - black anodized Reduction factor: approx. 0.5X - depending on distance Focal length: 85mm

Omegon 2X ED 2” Barlow lens - More aperture for your photography and observing Most large telescopes have a 2” focuser. You can use this to your advantage by using a 2“ Barlow lens and discovering all the additional advantages this can offer. The Omegon 2” Barlow lens provides a good image with high contrast. The use of ED glass means that visible colour aberrations are reduced to a minimum with the image appearing substantially sharper. In addition, all lens surfaces have been provided with a green multi-coating to reduce reflections. Larger diameter - more scope for your lenses The 2“diameter also allows you to insert your 2'” eyepieces into the Barlow, doubling their magnification. This saves the need to buy additional eyepieces. The large lens diameter also means you will notice no shadowing in the image. Astrophotography with the Barlow lens You can also use the Barlow lens for astrophotography. Especially for compact objects, sometimes more focal length is required in order for them to be seen at a reasonable size in the image. The big plus: There is also no shadowing apparent on small image format camera chips. Ergonomically designed Naturally, clear starry nights can be cold in summer. This often means there is no choice but to wrap up warmly. This Barlow lens has been designed with a high grip exterior to provide a good grip, meaning that it is easy to handle securely even with gloves on. Still more possibilities One does not always need the focal length to be doubled. It is also possible to use just one section of this Barlow lens in order to get a magnification factor of something like 1.5x. The lower Barlow element can simply be unscrewed and then screwed into any 2” eyepiece. This Barlow element is correctly threaded for this purpose. There is a 2“ filter thread provided on the lower part of the Barlow lens and on the reducer adapter for using your filters.

Conventional nominal 12V power supplies are made for use in your "living room". When used outside in the cold, their voltage will drop with temperature. At -10°C (18F), the voltage output may have gone down to only 10.5 V, and the motors of many telescope mounts will behave erratically at such a low voltage. The motor driver electronics will try to compensate for the low voltage by drawing more current (amps) until both power supply and mount electronics will fail to work properly or suffer damage. Many users blame the mount and its internal electronics when an inadequate power supply may be the culprit. The Baader Planetarium 60W Outdoor Power Supply is designed for outdoor use, just like the proven, smaller, Baader Planetarium 19W Outdoor Power Supply. Both, the elbowed disconnect plug as well as the straight pull linkage perfectly protect the power input and electronic board of the telescope against damage when tripping onto the cable. Also this protects the cable itself from breakage. Altogether the distance between telescope and power socket may reach 4 meters. This is longer than usual and assures that the power supply will not become a tripping hazard or dangle in the air. Even for larger telescopes, the power supply can be placed on the ground or onto the accessory tray of a tripod or pillar. The housing is sealed against moisture, but it is not waterproof. So, of course the plugs must not contact wet ground. The Baader Planetarium 60W Outdoor Power Supply continuously supplies up to 5 Amperes at a minimum of 12 Volts, so it is perfect for modern, powerful mounts like the Celestron Advanced VX, CGEM (DX), CGE Pro and CPC HD Deluxe. Of course, it can be used with any mount having a Celestron-Standard receptor (2.1mm x 5.5mm), requiring up to 5 Ampere.
With this adapter, you can operate your Bresser MCX 102/127 Goto telescope, BRESSER 80/400 Goto or National Geographic 70mm/90mm Goto telescope using a 230V~ wall connector.
