Alphacool has chosen the golden number here as you can keep fans running slower and quieter whilst still getting fantastic performance.Fans and LightingThe entire Eisbaer Aurora cooler has been equipped with addressable digital RGB LEDs. The pump housing has an Eisbaer pattern all around which is fully illuminated. This gives a unique look when installed into a case. The Alphacool Aurora LUX Pro fans are also fully illuminated with 5V aRGB LEDs. The fan frame has a unique pattern with many small cut-outs that create a particularly elegant effect. You do not see individual LEDs and the lighting is much more interesting than a simple LED ring. Of course, all Digital RGB LEDs can be controlled as you like, such as via the motherboard or with a third-party controller. Depending on the controller almost all effects are possible.How to Connect EverythingThe fans are controlled via a 4-pin PWM connector. To reduce the number of headers needed on the motherboard, Y-cable is included so that 2 or 3 fans can be ran from a single header. The RGB lighting is connected via a 3-pin JST connector. The Alphacool Eisbaer Pro Aurora CPU AIO water cooler is a special development for processors with particularly large CPU dies. These include the AMD Threadripper and Epyc processors and the Intel CPUs for the LGA 3647 and LGA 4189 socket.Large cooling surfaceThe cold plate bottom covers the entire surface of the respective processors. The area of the cooling fins exceeds all known processor cores with an area of around 55 x 42 mm. This ensures that all hotspots of a CPU are directly covered and thus optimally cooled. The cooling fins are 0.4 mm thick and also have an optimal distance of 0.4 mm between them. In total there are 58 cooling fins on the bottom of the cooler. The bottom of the cooler is only 3 mm thick, which allows the heat to reach the water and be dissipated as quickly as possible.Copper radiatorAs per usual with Alphacool, the radiators are made of copper. Alphacool is the first manufacturer worldwide to use copper for all water bearing components such as the antechambers, the cooling fins and the cooling channels to which the fins are soldered. The connection threads are made of brass for strength reasons. In addition, the cooling fins are only lightly painted. On closer inspection the copper shimmers through a little. A thick lacquer coating would result in a reduction of the cooling capacity. The fin density is at optimal 15FPI. Therefore the radiator works perfectly even at low airflow. A too high fin density would require fans with higher speed to achieve the same cooling capacity. A lower fin density would no longer benefit from fast rotating fans. More Performance! During the development of the Eisblock Aurora GPX-N RTX 3070 graphics card GPU block, we aimed to further increase the performance. The first step was to bring the cooler closer to individual components by reducing the thermal pads to a thickness of 1 mm. Next, the thickness of the nickel-plated copper block was reduced—from 7 mm to just 5.5 mm. The water flow inside the cooler has also been optimized. All key components, such as the voltage regulators and memory, are now cooled much more efficiently by the water, resulting in a significant increase in cooling performance. New Design! The Eisblock Aurora GPX-N RTX 3070 cooler has a design that emphasizes lighting more than previous models. Addressable digital RGB LEDs are embedded directly into the cooling block and run along its entire length, illuminating the entire unit with no corner or edge left unlit by the aRGB LEDs. The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora GPX-N Acrylic Active Backplate for Geforce RTX 3080/3090 graphics cards is the perfect upgrade for Alphacool's Eisblock Aurora Acrylic GPX-N GPU custom water coolers (see compatibility details). With this backplate, made of nickel-plated copper, the back of Geforce RTX 3080/3090 graphics cards can also be actively water-cooled, resulting in a significant increase in cooling performance.Connection optionsThere are 2 different ways to incorporate the backplate into your existing watercooling loop: Variant 1The cooler provides both an inlet and outlet with G1/4" internal thread on the top side. With appropriate fittings and hoses/hard tubes, the backplate can be easily integrated into the water circuit. Variant 2The cooler also offers an inlet and outlet on the side for 5/3mm hoses. Using Alphacool's MCX 2x manifold with 5/3mm tubing (item 1022250), the active backplate can be easily and space-efficiently integrated into the water circuit. The Alphacool Eisblock XPX Aurora CPU water coolers offer top performance thanks to the patented ramp system, combined with excellent quality. The Aurora design in combination with addressable digital RGB lighting offers many possibilities for outstanding lighting of the CPU water cooler. Alphacool already developed and patented a new injection technique with the first Alphacool Eisblock XPX. The so-called “ramp system” ensures a uniform flow of water inside the cooler and sits in front of the nozzle plate. This way, the water is pressed evenly through the nozzle plate, allowing the water to distribute evenly across the cooler base. The cooling channels on the CPU cooler base have also been enlarged to an impressive 34 x 32 mm to meet the demands of ever-larger CPU DIEs. This applies especially to multi-core processors with 4, 6, 8, or even 12 and more CPU cores. To ensure that heat can be transferred from the CPU to the water as quickly as possible, 81 cooling fins are located on the cooler base. The fin structure has been reduced to just 0.2 mm to create the largest possible surface area in the tightest space. The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Edge has been changed significantly compared to its predecessor Eisblock XPX in several respects. The lower part of the cooler is completely made of brass, no longer of acrylic or transparent nylon. As a result, the entire feel and quality of the cooler changes. It not only feels heavier in the hand, but is also clearly more stable in every way than typical acrylic CPU water coolers. To visually set the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Edge further apart from the normal Eisblock XPX Aurora CPU water coolers, the intermediate base of the cooler has been kept completely in black. This further highlights the visual effect of the water flow. The corners of the CPU cooler have been designed to be more angular, making the cooler stand out clearly from the normal Eisblock Aurora Acryl.
