The next generation - The Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water cooler for Geforce RTX 4XXX graphics cards. In order to dissipate the enormous heat of this graphics card generation in the best possible way, numerous optimizations have been made to the water cooler compared to the previous model. The fin structure was adapted and enables a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified jet plate with improved inflow engine ensures an optimal distribution of the water on the cooling fins.Technical HighlightsThe fin structure of this Eisblock cooler generation was developed together with Nvidia board partners. The fin thickness is 0.4 mm, the distance between the cooling fins is 0.4 mm. This ensures a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The jet plate has a revised inlay that spreads the water pressure better over the fins thus optimizing the heat absorption. The adjusted water inflow gives the water a better angle of inflow.Chrome-plated copperThe cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers. DesignThe Aurora design of the Geforce RTX 4XXX Eisblock generation is visually calmer and simpler. Only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The design around the cooling fins and jetplate makes for a cleaner look. The illumination of the digitally addressable RGB LEDs is even better distributed throughout the cooler as a result of the chrome plating. The terminal's design is in line with the classic Aurora design.Thermal paste & thermal padsThe included thermal compound is Alphacool's Subzero. With a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK, it is one of the highest performing thermal pastes on the market. The electrically non-conductive thermal compund is particularly well suited for high contact pressures, but can still be processed perfectly due to its viscosity of 850,000 TF. Alphacool Soft Pads with 1mm thickness are used on the voltage converter and the graphics memory. The thermal conductivity of the pads is 7 W/mK. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick and have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK. With the help of the backplate, consisting of nickel-plated copper, the back of Geforce RTX 3080/3090 graphics cards can now also be actively water-cooled, thus achieving a significant increase in cooling performance.Connection optionsThere are 2 different ways to incorporate the backplate into your existing watercooling loop: Variant 1The cooler has an inlet and outlet with G1/4" internal thread on the top side respectively. The next generation - the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water cooler for Radeon RX 7XXX graphics cards. In order to dissipate the enormous heat of this graphics card generation in the best possible way, numerous optimizations have been made to the water cooler compared to the previous model. The fin structure was adapted and enables a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The modified jet plate with improved inflow engine ensures an optimal distribution of the water on the cooling fins.Technical HighlightsThe fin structure of this Eisblock cooler generation was developed together with AMD board partners. The fin thickness is 0.4 mm, the distance between the cooling fins is 0.4 mm. This ensures a very good water flow while increasing the cooling surface. The jet plate has a revised inlay that spreads the water pressure better over the fins thus optimizing the heat absorption. The adjusted water inflow gives the water a better angle of inflow.Chrome-plated copperThe cooler is made entirely of chrome-plated copper. A chrome plating is much harder than a nickel plating and therefore less sensitive to acids, scratches and damage. It completely eliminates the risk of chipping nickel plating. Additionally, chrome plating looks much more homogeneous and provides a shine that cannot be achieved by nickel plating. Chrome-plated coolers have previously only been used in the industrial sector in areas where extreme influences act on the coolers.DesignThe Aurora design of the Radeon RX 7XXX Eisblock generation is visually calmer and simpler. Only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The design around the cooling fins and jetplate makes for a cleaner look. The illumination of the digitally addressable RGB LEDs is even better distributed throughout the cooler as a result of the chrome plating. The terminal's design is in line with the classic Aurora design.Thermal paste & thermal padsThe included thermal compound is Alphacool's Subzero. With a thermal conductivity of 16 W/mK, it is one of the highest performing thermal pastes on the market. The electrically non-conductive thermal compund is particularly well suited for high contact pressures, but can still be processed perfectly due to its viscosity of 850.000 TF. Alphacool Soft Pads with 1mm thickness are used on the voltage converter and the graphics memory. The thermal conductivity of the pads is 7 W/mK. The pads for the back of the PCB are 3mm thick and have a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK. The Alphacool Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 Turbo was specially developed for the Alphacool Enterprise series. The full-cover cooler with aluminium backplate cools the GPU and all important components such as voltage converters and the graphics memory directly with water. Connections to the top? Server cases offer different dimensions than normal PC cases. To save space in width and height, the connections were moved to the top. Another advantage is that it is easier to connect the tubing of a complete server rack with this kind of positioning of the connections. This means that even quick-release fasteners with G1/4" external thread can be screwed directly to the graphics card as already offered by Alphacool. More performance! During the development of the Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 Turbo graphics card waterblock, we naturally placed great emphasis on increasing performance. For the first step, the cooler was brought closer to the individual components by reducing the thermal pads to a thickness of 1 mm. Next, the nickel-plated copper block was also made thinner. Instead of 7 mm, it is now only 5.5 mm thick. The water flow within the cooler was also optimized. The Alphacool Eisblock XPX 1U is the Enterprise Solutions version of the well-known and popular Eisblock XPX CPU water cooler. It has been specially optimized for use in 1U server racks and has extended connection options. This allows for more connection options in the very tight 1U server racks and integrate it easily into a cooling loop.Many Connection OptionsThanks to its extremely flat design, the Eisblock XPX 1U fits into any 1U server case. Due to the flat design of a 1U server rack, no inlets or outlets can be used on top of the CPU cooler as the total height of the CPU cooler including the fittings would no longer fit. Therefore, the Eisblock XPX 1U has further connection possibilities on the side of the cooler. There are altogether 3 x IN and 4 x OUT, with 2 x In and 3 x OUT mounted on the side. Straight fittings up to a size of 13/10 mm can be connected at the side. The Alphacool TPV connectors, which were specially developed for the Enterprise Solutions series, are ideal. Larger fittings can be used, but only in specific circumstances with angled adapters. The Alphacool XPX Aurora Pro Light is the little sister of the XPX Pro CPU liquid cooling block. It offers a clearer design but does without the ramp system of the XPX Pro models. This eliminates the view of the water channels, giving a much clearer look to the coolant. Like the other XPX Pro models, the cooler has been specially optimized for AMD Threadripper, Intel LGA 3647 and 2011/2066 processors.How is the CPU cooler illuminated?As with all new Eisblock CPU water coolers, Alphacool uses an integrated aRGB solution. Under the black frame there are 14 Digital RGB LEDs are mounted around the entire cooler. Each of these 5V aRGB LEDs can be controlled separately. This means that all known effects are possible, depending on the selected controller. There are controllers are available from Alphacool, but also many mainboards offer a 3-pin 5V aRGB connector to control the LEDs of the Eisblock Aurora Pro Light. The cable ends in a 3-pin JST connector with integrated Y-adapter to connect further Alphacool components directly. A corresponding 3-pin JST to 3-pin V adapter is included in the delivery.Extremely powerfulThe coldplate has been specially optimized for the large processor cores. A total of 147 cooling fins run over an area of around 42 x 58.6 mm. For comparison: An Alphacool XPX Aurora Eisblock requires only 81 cooling fins to completely cover the processor core of a normal CPU. This is because the thermal conductivity of copper is known to be almost twice as high as that of aluminium.Is installation difficult?The assembly is extremely easy. You remove the protective foil from the cooler bottom, spread some of the enclosed thermal paste on the CPU and then attach the cooler. Depending on the base, the mounting screws are screwed on before or after the cooler is put on. No tools are necessary for the installation. The step towards perfectionThe new Alphacool AGB comes in three different models. You can either connect a Laing DDC, the Alphacool DC-LT or the Laing D5/Alphacool VPP655 at the backplate depending on the model which you use. The brushed plate provides an optical finishing touch which is underlined by the high quality processing. The front consists of a scretch-secure soft-touch surface painted in black-matt. The Eisfach is mounted in two of the front 5,25" bays which provides a good overview of the container and the fill level is easily being checked through the lighted window at the back. Additionally, the Alphacool logo in the front can be lighted by connecting the 3-pin connector with a power source. A lot of details complement the first impression! Two 1/4" holes at the top side are available for the first filling. To refill you can simply remove and extract the fillport in the front and two 1/4" holes at the bottom side facilitate the draining of the liquid. There are two lighting modules at the right hand side at the back of the container behind the window for 5mm LEDs. This provides a unique opportunity for personalised lighting and optic. Further two holes at the left hand side provide additional opportunities to fill or drain the liquid. The last two 1/4" threads are used to fill or drain the container. A Bubble Down module has been placed behind the inlet to prevent turbulences that could lead air into the watercircle.
