The new Eiszapfen PRO hard tube fittings from Alphacool are the next step in development for the familiar Eiszapfen fittings. In the development of the fittings Alphacool concentrated on a specific problem, deforming PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. PETG can start to deform at 60°C. Although such a temperature is usually rarely reached, it can still occur. The Eiszapfen PRO fittings prevent this problem from the outset and hold the tubes in position. The deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts inside and stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, the fitting still has an O-ring and a compression seal. However, the contact area is much larger than with normal O-rings, which provides a better grip. With the insert and the compression seal, the tube is strengthened from the inside and outside. Die Eiszapfen PRO Hardtube Fittinge sind eine Neuentwicklung, basieren auf der langjährigen Erfahrung von Alphacool im Bereich Wasserkühlung. Sie stellen die nächste Evolutionsstufe der Alphacool Hardtube Anschlüsse dar. Bei der Entwicklung dieser Fittinge stand die Lösung eines bestimmten Problems im Vordergrund. Bei Temperaturen von knapp 60°C können sich PETG Hardtubes verformen. Das betrifft besonders die Anschlüsse an den Ausgängen des CPU oder Grafikkarten-Wasserkühlers. Der Eiszapfen PRO Hardtube Fitting passt zu allen Hardtubes im richtigen Format. Für PETG-, Acryl-, Messing- und auch Glastubes kann dieses Fitting verwendet werden. Im Vergleich zu anderen Fittingen ist die Zugfestigkeit sehr hoch. Bei Alphacools Tests waren bis zu 8 kg und mehr kein Problem. Dadurch muss man sich auch bei größeren Belastungen kaum noch Gedanken über das Abrutschen eines Hardtubes machen. Zum einen liegt den neuen Fittingen ein Inlay aus Nylon bei, welches den Hardtube stabilisiert und verhindert das dieser sich bei hohen Temperaturen verformt und es dadurch zu einem Auslaufen des Systems kommen kann. Des Weiteren verfügt das Fitting über einen O-Ring und eine Quetschdichtung. Die Quetschdichtung hat im Vergleich zu einem normalen O-Ring eine deutlich größere Kontaktfläche was natürlich zu einem besseren Halt führt. Inlay und Quetschdichtung sind im Fitting so angeordnet das sie im Zusammenspiel von innen und außen hohen Druck auf den Hartube aufbauen. Im Grunde ist die Montage der Eiszapfen PRO Hardtube Fittinge andern Fittingen sehr ähnlich. Neu ist, das Nyloninlay, was in das Ende des Hardtubes eingesteckt wird. Zuerst wird die Überwurfmutter auf den Hardtube geschoben und anschließend die Quetschdichtung. Danach wird das Nyloninlay aufgesteckt. Nun wird das Fitting ganz normal verschraubt. Um dies noch weiter zu erleichtern, befindet sich im Loch des unteren Teils des Fittings eine Innensechskant Aussparung.

Alphacool’s new quick connectors, called the “Eiszapfen” (icicle), are the newest addition to the “Eis” series. High quality and impressive features take every water cooling system a step forward in quality and practicality! A quick-release connector can be used anywhere where expandability, flexibility, or cleanliness play a big role. The compact connectors have a 1/4” thread on both sides, making them compatible with all standard components. The connectors can be separated by pulling down the outer rings. Both sides immediately shut completely, so that no water can leak out. The special N.D.S.L. technology (no drip, no splash, no leak) ensures no water drips, splashes or leaks out while opening the connectors. When the pieces are reconnected, both sides audibly click together and are locked tightly with a double o-ring, which is simply pressed together when reconnecting.
