What is it? The Alphacool Cape Corp Coolplex HF Metal is the first reservoir from Alphacool which has a base and top made completely out of brass and also has the Lighttower water effect. And yet, the Cape Corp Coolplex HF Metal still features an optical highlight that has become virtually essential to the Alphacool Series. The Lighttower water effect is included here too. The streams of water coming sideways out of the riser pipe hit the transparent Plexiglas of the reservoir, creating a unique fountain effect that changes at every flow rate. If you’d rather not use the water effect, you can simply fill the reservoir past the riser pipe. The base has two options for connecting both the inlet and outlet – on the side of the base or directly underneath it. This gives you different options for setting up your system the way you want it. You can also pass the water into the reservoir through its top, though this setup does have some disadvantages. This setup means going without the Lighttower water effect, and of course that air will enter the cooling loop when it is switched off. The included clip-on brackets make installation a cinch. The brackets are simply screwed in at the desired place with an M4 screw. If your case doesn’t have holes in the right places, you can simply drill those in. The reservoir just needs to be clipped on. When the Cape Corp Coolplex HF Metal is at the desired height, the clips can be fastened to hold the reservoir in place. The Alphacool Core reservoir has an integrated pump top for powerful D5 pumps and comes with a VPP Apex pump. The tube of the reservoir is made of acrylic, the D5/VPP pump top and the lid of acetal. The combination of these two materials gives the expansion tank a discreet appearance. The wow effect is provided by 12 digitally addressable RGB LEDs in the pump top and the Lighttower water effect inside the acrylic tube.What's new?Compared to the previous Eisbecher models, the acrylic tube of the Core reservoir has an external thread. This provides more stability and safety when connecting the lid and pump top to the tube. Alphacool's Core product series is characterized by high quality, outstanding performance and the uniform and functional design language.The copper cooler which, like the end terminal, is milled from a single piece of copper and is the core of this cooler. The fine workmanship, paired with the hard and resistant chrome plating covering the entire copper cooler, meet the highest quality standards. The chrome-plated brass G1/4" threads integrated on both sides stand out visually from the terminal. They are a central feature of the new design language that will be evident in all products in the Core series.The aluminum backplate adapted to the design, together with the terminal, makes up the entire unit and enhances the back of the cooler with a clean and homogeneous look. The lighting consists of digitally addressable RGB LEDs, which illuminate the entire cooler evenly and effectively.The technical advancements can be seen in the water supply to the jet plate as well as in the optimization of the jet plate itself. The jet plate has been completely redesigned based on many simulations and practical tests in cooperation with board partners. The fin thickness and spacing have been enhanced, the cooling surface has been increased and the water flow to the core components with the greatest heat output has been optimized. The enclosed special soft thermal pads with up to 7 W/mK adapt perfectly to even the smallest tolerances.Important note: The RTX 4090 Core Reference cooler is not compatible with Nvidia's Geforce RTX 4090 Founders Edition.
