With the NH-P1, Noctua presents its first passive CPU cooler. This cooler was designed from the ground up for fanless operation and provides efficient cooling through natural convection. A total of six heatpipes transfer the waste heat to particularly thick cooling fins with wide spacing. With the NH-P1, processors with low to medium heat output can be cooled completely silently. Additionally, the installation of an optional 120 mm fan is supported, which allows for handling short load spikes or operation in semi-passive systems. In case passive cooling performance needs to be enhanced, the installation of an extra 120 mm fan is supported. This helps balance out load spikes. A PWM-controlled fan is recommended so it activates only when needed. The necessary fan mounting clips are included in the package. The cooler comes with the TORX-based SecuFirm2+ mounting kit, letting you securely and conveniently install the NH-P1 on various Intel and AMD processors. To ensure efficient thermal transfer from the heatspreader to the heatsink, Noctua includes the premium NT-H2 thermal compound.
