Alphacool Eisschicht Ultra Soft thermal pad 3W/mk 50x50x3mm The Alphacool Ultra soft Eisschicht is the next step in terms of thermal pads. Due to their outstanding properties, they can almost be compared directly to thermal paste. This is because the Ultra Soft Eisschicht moulds itself and clings much better to components, which contributes to excellent cooling performance. Better than standard thermal pads? The material of the Ultra Soft thermal pads acts similar to a thermal paste. While normal thermal pads are only pressed together by the contact pressure there can be areas that are uneven due to different high components, making them less effective. With the ultra soft Eisschicht this problem doesn’t exist because the material distributes itself similar to thermal paste and thus prevents the highest components from being subjected to increased contact pressure by the cooler. As standard thermal pads are quite stiff they can also cause too much pressure on components. In the worst cases, this can cause the PCB to bend and even break. Due to the soft consistency of the Ultra Soft Eisschicht any excess material can spread out rather than cause problems. The Ultra Soft Eisschicht is not only performance orientated, but also safer! But this is not the only advantage! Moreover, the special material cannot dry out. Usually the silicone in thermal pads bleeds out over time. This makes them hard and the performance of the pads drops rapidly from a certain point. This is not the case with the Ultra Soft Eisschicht. They can be used over a much longer period of time without significantly losing performance. A thermal pad with fabric? The consistency of the heat conducting material is similar to a viscous heat conducting paste. A special fabric is embedded so that the material remains stable and can be used as a thermal pad. This ensures a perfect distribution of the material if the element to be cooled has an uneven shape. Examples include voltage transformers, VRam and similar electronic components of all kinds that require cooling. Cutting? No problem! The full-cover cooler with aluminium backplate cools the GPU and all important components such as voltage converters and the graphics memory directly with water. Connections to the rear? Server cases offer different dimensions than normal PC cases. To save space in width and height, the connections were moved to the back. Another advantage is that it is easier to connect the tubing of a complete server rack with this kind of positioning of the connections. This means that even quick-release fasteners with G1/4" external thread can be screwed directly to the graphics card as already offered by Alphacool. More performance! During the development of the Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N Quadro RTX A600 graphics card waterblock, we naturally placed great emphasis on increasing performance. For the first step, the cooler was brought closer to the individual components by reducing the thermal pads to a thickness of 1 mm. Next, the nickel-plated copper block was also made thinner. Instead of 7 mm, it is now only 5.5 mm thick. The water flow within the cooler was also optimized. All important components such as the voltage converters and the RAM are now cooled much better and more effectively by water. All this provides a significant increase in cooling performance. First, we held back a little in performance in order to solve a widespread problem: the volume! Few other pumps can match this one in terms of reducing noise generation from water. For the most up-to-date water cooling systems with CPU and GPU cooling, this pump should be the first choice. Unlike before, this pump does not come in the familiar plastic casing. It is made to complement the existing EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 water blocks and actively cool the backside of a ROG® GeForce RTX™ 3080 and 3090 Strix GPU. EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate The EK-Quantum Vector Strix RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate comes with a new terminal that replaces the stock terminal arriving with the Vector water block and links the water block and Vector Active backplate into a single unit. This way the whole enclosure requires only one inlet and one outlet, removing any unneeded additional tubing and reducing clutter. It is the ultimate aesthetic and performance solution that finds your GPU sandwiched between two water blocks allowing maximum cooling. The Vector Active Backplate directly cools the PCB hotspots that are found on the backside of the GPU core and the VRM (voltage regulation module). On the RX 3090, the VRAM located on the backside is cooled, while the RTX 3080 gets cooling for the PCB located around the front-mounted VRAM. Cooling liquid is channeled over all these critical areas. These newly developed active backplates feature a fin array with 8 wide channels allowing for very low flow restriction. This in turn allows overall lower temperatures, while the active backplate gets more than sufficient surface area for heat transfer. The base of this stealthy active backplate is CNC-machined out of nickel-plated electrolytic copper, while its top is CNC-machined out of durable Black POM acetal. The rest of the backplate is made of anodized aluminum and it does not come in contact with the liquid. These Vector Active Backplates also feature acetal terminals that match the top cover. The watertight sealing is ensured by high-quality EPDM O-rings. The arrow marking on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector is to be aligned with the +5V marking on the D-RGB (addressable) header.
