Mängu on lisatud ka uusi võimeid, näiteks Ultra Sword, mis annab Kirbyle hiiglasliku mõõga, või Water, mis võimaldab Kirbyl vee all liikuda. Mäng sisaldab ka koostöörežiimi, kus kuni neli mängijat saavad liituda võrgus ja töötada koos, et lüüa maha võimsad vastased ja lahendada keerulisi mõistatusi. Koos töötades saavad mängijad kasutada oma tegelaskujude erinevaid võimeid, et lihtsamini võidelda vastu suurematele vaenlastele.
