Der NH-L12Sx77 ist eine etwas höhere Variante des preisgekrönten NH-L12S und bietet eine verbesserte Kühlleistung sowie erweiterte Mainboard- und RAM-Kompatibilität. Mit sechs statt vier Heatpipes bietet er zusätzlichen thermischen Spielraum und wird weiterhin standardmäßig so konfiguriert, dass der Lüfter von unten nach oben durch die Kühlrippen bläst. Dies sorgt nicht nur für eine optimale Akustik in Gehäusen mit perforierten Seiten- oder Oberteilen direkt über dem Kühler, sondern hilft auch, die warme Luft aus dem System zu befördern. Durch die größere Bauhöhe konnte der Freiraum für hohe Mainboard-Kühlkörper oder RAM-Module deutlich vergrößert werden. Mit einer Höhe von 77 mm ist der NH-L12Sx77 dennoch kompakt genug, um in beliebte Small Form Factor (SFF/SFX) Gehäuse wie das Fractal Design Terra, Silverstone Milo ML12 oder Louqe Raw S1 zu passen.
