La presente monografía está dedicada a la obra y proyectos desarrollados por Kazuyo Sejima y Ryue Nishizawa, entre los años 2015 y 2023, tanto de manera conjunta, en la oficina fundada por ambos, SANAA, como individualmente. Este volumen completa el número de El Croquis 205. SANAA, creada en 1995 por Kazuyo Sejima y Ryue Nishizawa, ha sido galardonada con numerosos y prestigiosos premios internacionales, como el León de Oro de la 9ª Bienal de Venecia (2004), el Premio del Instituto de Arquitectura de Japón (2006), el Premio Pritzker (2010) y el Mies Crown Hall American Prize (2016). Kazuyo Sejima (Ibaraki, Japón. 1956) se gradúa en la Universidad de Mujeres de Japón en 1981, y a continuación pasa a formar parte de la oficina Toyo Ito & Associates. En 1987 funda su propia oficina, y en 1992 es galardonada como Arquitecto Joven del Año. Ha recibido el Premio de las Artes del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura, Deporte, Ciencia y Tecnología de Japón. En la actualidad, es profesora en la Universidad Politécnica de Milán, en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Yokohama, y profesora visitante en la Universidad de Mujeres de Japón y en la Universidad de Arte de Osaka. Ryue Nishizawa (Tokio, Japón. 1966) se gradúa en la Universidad Nacional de Yokohama en 1990 y, en ese mismo año, comienza a trabajar para Kazuyo Sejima & Associates. En 1997 establece su oficina independiente. En la actualidad, es profesor en la Escuela de Arquitectura de Yokohama.
