The Alphacool Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 was specially developed for the Alphacool Enterprise series. Over 17 years of experience has been incorporated into the development of this graphics card water block and it represents the current ethos of Alphacool product development. More performance! During the development of the Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 graphics card waterblock, we naturally placed great emphasis on increasing performance. For the first step, the cooler was brought closer to the individual components by reducing the thermal pads to a thickness of 1 mm. Next, the nickel-plated copper block was also made thinner. Instead of 7 mm, it is now only 5.5 mm thick. The water flow within the cooler was also optimized. All important components such as the voltage converters and the RAM are now cooled much better and more effectively by water. All this provides a significant increase in cooling performance. Connections to the rear? Server cases offer different dimensions than normal PC cases. To save space in width and height, the connections were moved to the back. Another advantage is that it is easier to connect the tubing of a complete server rack with this kind of positioning of the connections. This means that even quick-release fasteners with G1/4" external thread can be screwed directly to the graphics card as already offered by Alphacool. Copper or aluminum? Alphacool, of course, only uses copper in its water coolers. In the EisblockES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 the copper is nickel-plated. However, compared to the previous models, Alphacool has improved the type of nickel plating once again. This has significantly increased the acid resistance and is intended to prevent nickel plating from flaking off. Why does Alphacool use copper instead of aluminum? Copper simply has almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum and is therefore clearly the better material for water cooling. Are these all new products? The graphics card water cooler Eisblock ES Acetal GPX-N RTX 3080/3090 also uses the new patented screw plugs, which are flush with the surface of the terminal. This GPU cooler from EK is a Special Edition, for the RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card. It features an advanced cooling engine based on the EK Quantum Vector 2nd generation. The water block has an extremely thick copper base - nickel-plated, mind you - which has a 30% larger cooling surface than the other Vector water blocks. The outer casing is made of solid and silver anodised aluminium. Naturally, the aluminium does not come into contact with the cooling liquid. The GPU cooler is rounded off with an acrylic lid, which provides a clear view of the inside, as well as a connection port on the side, which is also made of acrylic. Interesting here is that the connection terminal is on the short side, which has two G1/4" connections that go away from the cooler. Alternatively, the supplied connection terminal with four G1/4" connections can be mounted on the GPU cooler. Furthermore, the cooler also includes a backplate, which additionally cools the back of the graphics card passively. Together with the water block, the graphics card is completely enclosed and is virtually no longer visible from the outside. The back of the GPU cooler is also impressive, made of black anodised aluminium with an elegantly ribbed surface. Of course, a D-RGB illumination is not missing. This impresses with 20 individually addressable LEDs, which not only illuminate the interior stylishly, but also the acrylic terminal. The EK-Quantum Vector RE RTX 3080/3090 GPU cooler, has been further developed based on the 2nd generation Vector series and is compatible with most reference designs of RTX 3080/3090 graphics cards. The Vector RE water block directly cools the GPU, VRAM and VRM (voltage regulation module), as the cooling fluid is routed directly over these critical areas. The nickel-plated copper base is much thicker than previous Vector models. The top is made almost entirely of acrylic. The end piece of the cooler has D-RGB lighting, with a total of 5 individually addressable LEDs, which makes the interior shine pleasantly.
