The 48th ADAC Total 24h-Rennen produced another thrilling race on the Nurburgring Nordschleife despite the challenges brought about by the global pandemic. ROWE RACING secured the 20th overall win for BMW, 50 years after the Munich brand's first win at the race. It was the first time since 2010 that a BMW crew has stood on the top step of the podium at the race, and it came after another year of wonderful competition. After a race stoppage of more than nine and a half hours overnight due to poor weather, ROWE RACING delivered a masterful performance both on track and in the pits. More rain fell with less than two hours remaining, and the crew of the #99 BMW made the right tactical decision. Having changed to wet tyres, Nicky Catsburg was able to overtake the #3 Audi for the overall lead, and delivered the dream result for the team from St Ingbert. Christopher Haase made a spirited challenge towards the end, but the day belonged to BMW. Due to the Coronavirus, the 24-hour event was delayed to the second half of the year and took place in cold temperatures and with an increased threat of rain. Regulations were put in place to help reduce the risk of infection, which meant teams could only have ten crew members per car, and only a limited number of spectators were allowed into the grandstands around the Grand Prix track. At 97 cars, the number of cars was the second-lowest on record, but despite that, the action at the front and in many of the classes provided as much excitement and variety as ever before. In the BMW Cup, the Cayman Cup, V2T and V4 classes in particular, the racing was close, and the margins of victory were tight. This book reflects the 24-hour race in all its aspects for the 20th time already and is also a great source of reference, featuring a comprehensive results section and lap charts. This is an undisputed 'must have' for any motorsport fan.

Herzschlagfinale beim 49. ADAC TOTAL 24h-Rennen auf der Nordschleife: Der siegreiche Manthey-Porsche hatte am Ende gerade einmal 8,817 Sekunden Vorsprung vor dem zweitplatzierten ROWE-BMW. Die Plätze drei bis sieben waren lediglich durch 5,6 Sekunden getrennt. Eine lange Unterbrechung wegen Nebels führte dazu, dass nach dem Restart nur noch dreieinhalb Stunden Fahrzeit auf der Uhr standen. Die Folge: Das 24-Stunden-Rennen wurde durch ein Sprintrennen entschieden. Tatsächlich stellte das Rennen mit einer Fahrzeit von knapp zehn Stunden einen neuen Minusrekord auf. Schuld daran waren einmal mehr die Wetterverhältnisse auf dem Nürburgring, die ein längeres Fahren nicht möglich machten. Am Ende ging es in vielen der 24 verschiedenen Klassen eng zu: Ob Porsche Cayman-Cup, Produktionswagen bis 2.000 ccm mit Turbo, Specials bis 2.600 ccm mit Turbo und bis 4.000 ccm mit Turbo, GT4 oder TCR: Hier fielen die Entscheidungen um den Sieg sehr knapp aus. Das Rahmenprogramm war erneut hochkarätig: Zum 30. Mal starteten die Young- und Oldtimer im 3h-Classic-Rennen, der Tourenwagen-Weltcup war zum siebten Mal dabei und die Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring, Deutschlands älteste und größte Breitensportserie, eröffnete wie gewohnt das Renngeschehen am Donnerstagmorgen. Abgerundet wurde das Geschehen von einer Premiere: dem ersten Auftritt der Tourenwagen-Legenden aus der ehemaligen DTM. Das 24h-Jahrbuch beleuchtet auch in diesem Jahr ausführlich das Geschehen in allen 24h-Klassen sowie die Rennen des Rahmenprogramms und die Trainingssitzungen. Hunderte Fotos runden - ergänzt durch viele Tabellen und Statistiken - das Buch ab.

Das war ein wahrhaft würdiges Jubiläumsrennen: die 50. Auflage der ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring war an Action und Dramatik kaum zu überbieten. Ein Ferrari auf Pole, strauchelnde Favoriten, beinharte Fights und am Ende ein Audi als Sieger - diesen Verlauf hätten wohl nicht einmal Experten vorher prognostiziert. Wie es dazu kam? Das beleuchtet das offizielle 24h-Jahrbuch. Nach 24 Stunden lag ein Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II von Phoenix Racing an der Spitze, nachdem zuvor die versammelte Konkurrenz mit hohem Einsatz ans Werk gegangen war - und sich dabei verzockte. Belohnt wurden beim Jubiläum einmal mehr die Ausdauerspezialisten, die schnell, zuverlässig und fehlerfrei blieben. Zwei Mercedes-AMG GT3 von GetSpeed komplettierten das Gesamtpodium bei diesem besonderen Rennen. Darüber hianus wurde in fast zwei Dutzend Klassen ehrgeizig um jede Position gefochten, gab es Favoritensieger und Überraschungsteams. Ob in den stark besetzten Cup-Klassen, bei den bulligen "Specials" oder den Produktionswagen - alle 135 Teilnehmer finden sich natürlich in diesem Buch wieder. Hunderte Fotos und Statistiken, detaillierte Berichte über das Renngeschehen und über die Entscheidungen in den einzelnen Klassen lassen das ganze Wochenende noch einmal Revue passieren. Dazu gehört selbstverständlich auch das Rahmenprogramm mit RCN, ADAC 24h-Classic, dem Tourenwagen-Weltcup (WTCR) und den Tourenwagen-Legenden. Auch das Geschehen abseits der Strecke - vom Adenauer Racing Day bis zur Falken Drift Show - wird hier noch einmal lebendig. Und natürlich darf bei der 50. Auflage auch ein Rückblick auf die Historie des Rennens nicht fehlen!

Was für ein Rennen! Die ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring boten 2023 einmal mehr die ganze Bandbreite von Emotionen, die es eben nur bei diesem Langstreckenklassiker auf der längsten und schönsten Rennstrecke der Welt gibt. Nach der Doppel-Pole für Mercedes-AMG von Bilstein / GetSpeed wurde das Rennen zu einer Triumphfahrt für Frikadelli-Racing, deren gerade erst debütierter Ferrari 296 GT3 damit einen fulminanten Einstand feierte. Bis in die Schlussphase war der erste Sieg der Frikadelli-Mannschaft gefährdet, denn der am Ende zweitplatzierte ROWE-BMW sowie der aus der ersten Reihe gestartete GetSpeed-Mercedes-AMG hetzten die Mannschaft aus der Eifel bis zuletzt. Kein Wunder, dass die 235.000 Zuschauer am Wochenende deshalb die schnellsten 24h aller Zeiten erlebten: 162 Runden legten die Sieger zurück - das entspricht 4.035,102 Kilometern Vollgas! Natürlich sorgte aber nicht nur der spektakuläre Kampf um den Gesamtsieg für Hochspannung: Dass der zweitplatzierte BMW zuvor eine grandiose Aufholjagd bot oder dass nach dem Top-Qualifying in der Werkstatthalle von Frikadelli ein havarierter Konkurrent seinen Mercedes-AMG wieder flottmachte oder oder oder ... Es sind unzählige Geschichten, die wert sind, festgehalten zu werden. Dazu zählt selbstverständlich auch der Fight um Sekt und Selters in den 20 Klassen. Schließlich wird bei den 24h nicht nur an der Spitze des Feldes ultraspannender Motorsport geboten. 132 Fahrzeuge traten in diesem Jahr bei den 24h an, und jedes einzelne ist in diesem Buch zu finden. Und nicht nur das: Vom Adenauer Racing Day bis zum Siegersekt ist die ganze Veranstaltung dokumentiert, auch die 24h Classic, die Cup- und Tourenwagen-Trophy, die RCN sowie die Tourenwagen-Legenden dürfen nicht fehlen.
