Japan's worst nuclear radiation accident took place at a uranium reprocessing facility in Tokaimura, northeast of Tokyo, on 30 September 1999. The direct cause of the accident was cited as the depositing of a uranyl nitrate solution--containing about 16.6 kg of uranium, which exceeded the critical mass--into a precipitation tank. Three workers were exposed to extreme doses of radiation. Hiroshi Ouchi, one of these workers, was transferred to the University of Tokyo Hospital Emergency Room, three days after the accident. It thinks of itself as apolitical, and unaffected by political and social forces. This book, however, powerfully shows that the opposite is true.The origins of analytic philosophy are in a set of distinct movements, chief among them the Cambridge philosophy of Bertrand Russell and G.E. Moore, and logical positivism of the Vienna Circle, shaped by highly specific, and different, sets of political and social forces. The architecture of a diblock is the most simple among the block copolymer systems, hence it is often used as a model system in both experiment and theory. We introduce a new soft-tetramer model for efficient computer simulations of diblock copolymer melts. The simplicity of the model allows to scan the control parameter space in a completeness that has not been reached in previous molecular simulations. We develop a novel method for the identification of the observed diblock copolymer mesophases that formalizes the usual approach of direct visual observation, using the characteristic geometry of the structures.
