Weltkrieg ist im Geschichtswissen der Menschen meist fest verankert und das Gros verbindet die Schlachten mit Kriegsstätten wie Verdun, der Ostfront oder dem Seekrieg. Häufig wird dabei aber ein wichtiger und entscheidender Nebenkriegsschauplatz vergessen: Die Front zwischen Österreich-Ungarn und Italien. §Seit der italienischen Kriegserklärung an ÖU am 23. Mai 1915, zog sich in einem sichelförmigen Bogen - von der Schweizer Grenze im Bereich des Stilfser Jochs, durch den gesamten Südalpenraum bis in den nordwestlichen Winkel des heutigen Jugoslawiens - eine Hochgebirgsfront von ca. 400 km Länge. ÖU reagierte überlegt und überraschte Italien mit der schnellen, strategisch wertvollen Besetzung wichtiger Gipfel und Höhen . Gegen die in den ersten Kriegstagen gezogene Frontlinie versuchte der Aggressor Italien bis zur Auflösung der Dolomitenfront in Folge der 12. Isonzo - Schlacht vehement anzugehen, wurde aber bis auf unbedeutende Geländegewinne immer wieder erfolgreich von ÖU abgewehrt und es gelang die gesamte Kriegszeit kein Durchbruch seitens der Italiener. In dem immer aussichtsloser werdenden Stellungskrieg wurde zur Eroberung einzelner Gipfel letztendlich auf eine gängige Kriegsmethode der West- und Ostfront zurückgegriffen, dem Minenkrieg. Für strategisch wichtige Geländegewinne wurden Sprengstollen unter feindliche Stellungen getrieben, um zum Zeitpunkt x ganze Bergmassive mitsamt den Besetzern in die Luft zu sprengen.

Zurchungpa's Eighty Chapters of Personal Advice was the final teaching given by the great Nyingma master Zurchung Sherab Trakpa before he passed away. His counsels are the distillation of a lifetime's experience and comprise the practical instructions of a master who had made the teachings of the Great Perfection truly part of himself. He was a learned scholar and accomplished meditation master who spent many years in retreat, practicing the teachings of the Great Perfection.Shechen Gyaltsap Rinpoche (1871-1926) was an important disciple of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo the Great and one of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's root teachers. An accomplished meditator, he was also one of the most respected scholars of his day, whose writings fill thirteen volumes.
