"The Oxford Translation of Aristotle" was originally published in 12 volumes between 1912 and 1954. It is universally recognized as the standard English version of Aristotle. This revised edition contains the substance of the original translation, slightly emended in light of recent scholarship; three of the original versions have been replaced by new translations; and a new and enlarged selection of fragments has been added. The aim of the translation remains the same: to make the surviving works of Aristotle accessible to English speaking readers.

Simultaneous and eBook. In this hilarious fantasy adventure from the New York Times bestselling author of the Story Thieves series, a girl strikes a deal with the ancient, cranky dragon she accidentally summoned to teach her the forbidden magic she needs to save her mother. The spellbinding first edition paperback of The Dragon's Apprentice features colored edges with a special dragon design!STOP. Dont read any further. There are magic spells in this book, and the Emperor has forbidden anyone from learning magic, because its way too dangerous! If you try one of the spells, any number of terrible things might happen (or so the Emperor says). Dont be like Ciara, a twelve-year-old girl living in the tiny village of Skael. When she used a spell from within this book, she ended up summoning a dragon. A DRAGON! Those things breathe fire! From their mouths! Shes obviously doomed. And dont listen if Ciara tells you that dragons wont hurt humans, and that they even once taught us magic, a thousand years ago. Definitely dont pay any attention to the fact that the dragon she summoned, Scorch, might be willing to help rescue Ciaras mother and free her village from the Emperor and his Warden, because its all obviously a big lie. So put this book down, and forget about it. Magic is just way too dangerous. After all, you wouldnt want to summon your own dragon, would you? Autorid: James Riley

Published in the run-up to the 200th anniversary of the composers birth in 2013, and written by one of the most distinguished Wagner scholars in the world, this will be the Wagner book of the bicentenary. Richard Wagner (18131883) is one of the most influential and also one of the most polarizing composers in the history of music. Over the course of his long career, he produced a stream of spellbinding works that challenged musical convention through their richness and tonal experimentation, ultimately paving the way for modernism. This book presents an in-depth but easy-to-read overview of Wagners life, work and times. Making use of the very latest scholarship much of it undertaken by the author himself in connection with his editorship of The Wagner Journal Millington reassesses received notions about Wagner and his work, demolishing ill-informed opinion in favour of proper critical understanding. It is a radical and occasionally controversial reappraisal of this most perplexing of composers. The book considers a whole range of themes, including the composers original sources of inspiration; his fetish for exotic silks; his relationship with his wife, Cosima, and with his mistress, Mathilde Wesendonck; his anti-semitism; the operas proto-cinematic nature; and the turbulent legacy both of the Bayreuth Festival and of Wagnerism itself. The volumes arrangement unique among books on the composer combines an accessible text, intriguing images and original documents in carefully co-ordinated sections, thus ensuring a consistently fresh approach. Entanglement is deemed a valuable resource for quantum computing and lies at the heart of quantum information. At the same time, current experiments are venturing into the realm of quantum systems consisting of many particles. In this book, different aspects of entanglement and non-locality in multiparticle systems are investigated. First, it presents an approach for an experimental verification of non-locality and entanglement with a high statistical significance. Second, a criterion for genuine multiparticle entanglement is introduced. Furthermore, this criterion also allows for a way of quantifying multiparticle entanglement. Analytical criteria for entanglement in a special class of quantum states, so-called graph states, are presented. These criteria turn out to be also necessary for entanglement in certain cases. Finally, ways of generalizing a non-local hidden-variable model proposed by Leggett are shown.
